There is no doubt in my mind that this guy is going to be the #1 Pick in next year's Draft. There hasn't been this much hype around a Defensive prospect since Deion Sanders came into the NFL. However, is all of this nonsense really necessary? People on ESPN are talking about if he should sue the NFL to let him enter the Draft or if he should sit out the entire 2013 season because of an injury risk that could hurt his draft stock. Seriously? Get over yourselves. I know he got himself a $10 Million insurance policy in case of a career-ending injury, but all this talk is getting out of hand.

Yeah. ESPN is giving Heisman hype and that is too much IMO. Take that comment I just made with a grain of salt though. I relish the fact that I can claim my team has the only defensive Heisman. I'm all for defensive players getting more attention, but not enough for Heisman.

Maurice Clarett-Mike Williams all over again. Maurice Clarett? Are you saying Clowney will get into that kind of trouble? I'm not sure what you're insinuating here.

He didnt get into all that trouble until after he was out of the league. Insinuating that he will hurt his draft status and value if he fucts with the NFL and sits out a year.

The way I understood the story is that it wasn't Clowney that said he would sit out.
There was a report that one of his "advisers" or whatever said that they could see that happening given the recent injuries to big named players (Barkley, Lattimore, etc) and that's something that they might run by him as a possibility.
I haven't heard anything where he said that this was some thing that HE was really considering. I know that Spurrier disagrees that it could happen, but then again he's the coach so why wouldn't he want his best guy, right?
As far as the Clarett thing - he was a moron anyway. He should have known (again through history) that you can't challenge the league when it come to rules and such and find much success. YEARS ago Brian Bozworth came into the league and was trying to get the league to let him wear his college number of 44. He was a linebacker, and the league has number assignments by position (of course). Linebackers are no longer allowed to wear those numbers. He lost obviously, and ended up wearing 55 and was out of the league in only a few short years.
Clarett made a major miscalculation (after following very poor "advice" given to him) and he wasn't even that great of a player. He was a pretty good college player for one year but that was it. He really had no business trying to do what he did and even after he LOST that fight and was still given a chance in the league (a third-round flyer - big mistake Shanny - by my own team) he wasn't ready, was out of shape, was a bad team guy, and after all that nonsense of him fighting for his "right" to play in the league, he was booted out before the preseason even ended.
I saw Mike Williams as a guy that just got bad advice and figured he could follow Clarett's lead. If Clarett made it then Williams figured he could get into the league sooner too. He was a better player but still wasn't completely ready.
For his sake I hope Clowney stays and plays. Sitting out a year is detrimental to any player's development, no matter how good that player may be. I think it could do more harm than good if that happened.

teddy bridgewater and johnny manziel will go before clowney. clowney is a boss, but its a QB driven league right now. there isnt a home run QB this year, but next year both bridgewater and manziel will be top 5 picks. they are proven. after seeing bridgewater destroy florida, and manziel running over alabama, these 2 guys are gonna great players
