I'm officially moved out east nowliving in Halfax with my wife. This was a tough summer given that she was living 5000 km away from me for 4 months. I loved my job working at a science camp though. I got to blow up watermelons, light my hands on fire, blow fire from my mouth, teach kids how to make video games, teach kids how to 3D model and then help them print 3D objects, teach kids how to build and program Vex Robots and then race/battle them, and do all sorts of other fun science experiments and activities. I'm really happy to be back with my wife now though, and I'm ready to start taking classes in Halfax. We won't have cable though, so I don't know how much football I will get to watch You lit your hands on fire? Are your hands like..... okay? The rest of that stuff seems really cool though What's your major? Do you have any degrees?

The rest of that stuff seems really cool though What's your major? Do you have any degrees? I have a BA in Geography and I'm working on an Environmental Engineering Degree. I lit my hands on fire intentionally as a demonstration for the kids. We covered our hands in soap and water, then filled the soapy water with butane. It created a bunch of bubbles which are super flammable. When you light them, they light up into huge flames but don't burn your hands right away. You just have to swipe your hands down, away from your body and towards the ground to extinguish the flames/send the flames to the ground before it starts to burn. The kids love it. But don't ever try it unless you're in the proper environment and with people who know what they are doing because it can go very wrong very easily.

Wow I didn't know Ohio State did this. And they still do it today. I was eleven years old at this time and played on the beach all summer. Great memories of Hang on Sloppy. 1965... Last year.....

Totally forgot to mention, I am down in the states again for some football. This has seemingly become a yearly thing for my daddy and me, one of these years we hope saska will be able to join but it keeps not working out as such. This year is again in Minneapolis and we are going to see the lions vs vikings game. We came earlier this year and decided to camp in our trailer for the week. We are also planning on going to some baseball games! First game is tonight against detroit, then we have the angels in town on the weekend. The cool part is that the Twins have a solid shot at the playoffs so we should see some competetive games especially against a division rival with the Angels who also have a shot at playoffs! All in all gonna be a fun week! I am really excited about getting to see Calvin Johnson live Also teddy b. Only crappy thing is its tough to catch Miami games..

She actually saw a polar bear while she was at the airport. From Iqaluit she is going even farther North, to a place called Pangnirtung. Here is a map of where all of these places are, to help you guys visualize things. I'm sure many of you aren't overly familiar with Canadian geography, especially the northern territories.

Good stories bro's. I got nothing exciting going on this week. It did rain a lot yesterday which we needed. So saskabronco the red circles must be where your wife is right? What is she doing with the water samples?

Good stories bro's. I got nothing exciting going on this week. It did rain a lot yesterday which we needed. So saskabronco the red circles must be where your wife is right? What is she doing with the water samples? She's currently doing a post-doctoral fellowship at Dalhousie University where they are testing water downstream of wastewater treatment plants. They are looking for antibiotic resistant bacteria. It's hypothesized that wastewater treatment plants use some chemicals that are creating antibiotic resistent bacteria in the water systems, which has many negative implications to people who consume that water or other things that come into contact with it. Anti-biotic resistant bacteria can lead to us becoming immune to some antibiotics and thus less capable of defending ourselves from certain infections and illnesses. I probably butchered that explanation somewhat, but I think I got the basic point across.
