Madden and any other NFL game that's going to be made anytime in the next year or two - just give me back my HISTORIC TEAMS and let us edit...
Give back the "create plays" feature, the "coach only" feature (like this year's NCAA has), the "create a team" feature (but more like Team Builder for the NCAA game).
More and more the games are shifting to online playing. That's fine I suppose, but to sacrifice some of the great features from past games is not.
If they released games in the future with two discs (one for online functionality? and one for offline) they could probably fit all these things into the newer iterations, or like DC Universe Online - have a DLC that contains all the online features.
Too much to hope for, but maybe if someone knows a developer (or is one) we could team up with them and lend them our perspectives on this thing and get it done.

I'm personally sick and tired of EA running the world of NFL Video Games. They continually make the same mistakes year in and out. They don't fix anything. They don't admit that they make mistakes. Online pass has serious issues with it, on top of it not making the game any better just making them money. They inexplicably take things out of the game that people like without replacing them. They don't add things that people who buy their game want to have added every year. They don't improve what people actually play they just try to emphasize what developers think people should enjoy but know that they don't. They remove customization every year and make certain segments, settings and parts of the game refuse to work correctly with other parts of the game. Every team has different schemes and every player is different but in this game it seems like the players only are bad or good and units are bad or good teams and players that different only seem to play better or worse not different in any other way. The ratings are always awful. The AI's make inexplicably horrible decisions in player development and FA. The game never plays like an actual NFL games. Teams don't make game day or yearly adjustments in schemes, maybe because schemes never seems to actually make a difference. They claim to make differences and change things but it usually feels like they just put in better graphics, change the menus, and update the rosters. I'm really sick of EA making the only NFL video game. The only game EA has ever developed that I like is Battlefield Two. I also have a very strong hatred of exclusive rights agreements, which I believe need to be included under anti-trust violations. I think EA should be able to continue making NFL games but I hate them being the only ones doing so. Ok, the EA that makes Battlefield isn't the same retarded EA Tiburon division. The reason why Madden randomly removes the good content that the players like and replaces it with shit no one cares about and doesn't listen to what the people really want is because they are trying to maximize profit here. What would happen if they really tried and put in everything that everybody has wanted for so long in madden 14 and the game was so perfect? There wouldn't be much left to add in madden 15, and they probably wouldnt get as many sales. They're all about making money; not about making the best game possible. Even the damn soundtracks have gone downhill over the years, Madden 04 was the best madden game IMO.

Even the damn soundtracks have gone downhill over the years, Madden 04 was the best madden game IMO. See, that's what baffles me. The other sports have a game that many view to be remarkably close to perfect based on critic AND user reviews -- NHL and FIFA series from EA, the NBA series from 2K, and MLB: The Show series from Sony -- and yet they all make great sales each year despite not much change from game to game. Competition pushes these guys to make the best game possible, they do that, and still get huge profit from them... I don't think it has to do so much with them intentionally holding back from making a great Madden as a strategy to improve sales on the next game. All the other game publishers in the other sports, including the EA teams with FIFA and NHL, make great games against competition and profit heavily from them... so there's no reason to think yearly Madden game sales would drop dramatically if they put forth the best game they could possibly make. I think it simply boils down to being one of two things: Either the teams that have been developing Madden over the past 7-8 years are incompetent and just don't have the ability to make the best football game, or they are simply just fucking lazy due to the fact that they're the only NFL game on the market and know they don't have to try as hard b/c the masses will eat whatever shit they put on their plates, regardless, to get their NFL gaming fix.
