Just curious for those of you who have/are playing football, what position did you play and what was your biggest accomplishment?
Also, there is no rule for what age you played it at, either way it's pretty cool to know.
-----
Alright so here is a little about me talking baseball/football.
- When I was younger I use to play a lot of sports I was more of a baseball guy than football, I played that for about 8-9 years and doubled up on a few years on some competitve leagues but stopped playing around 13.
When I was around 8-10 I played 3 years of football and back then I was bigger than 95% of the kids at that age so naturally they put me on the defensive line, I was the defensive end. I wasn't fat but I was still big for my age lol.
Anyway my favorite play was when I did an illegal move and used my arm and spread the kids thigh apart with my hands and he did the splits (he started crying and told the coach on me, LOL) (ummm yeah... I didn't know the rules but apparently I pulled his groin or something.... I'm innocent!) , and then I went and pushed the fullback into the QB and knocked them both over and got a sack! Yeah I can't remember how many sacks I had the year that happened but I would say probably around 7. I would get double-teamed constantly... And get knocked on my ass, I couldn't take 2 whopper-o line kids at once.
Last year I played starting TE for my highschool football team, luckily I was more of a receiving TE than a blocking TE because I told them I didn't like blocking, lol. I had 5 TD's, not bad for my first time playing in like 7 years. I didn't like it though, it's too much of a commitment and I'm honestly not that tough of a guy and naturally people talk shit on the football field so I didn't want to do it anymore, haha. I like watching football more than playing it. Opposite of how I feel about baseball, I really like playing baseball but not watching it all the time.

Oh yeah and my worst injury playing was when my nail got partially ripped off. I've taken a few hard hits but I've given more than I've received. I guess I've been lucky.

played defense in soccer as a kid... got asked to join the rep team but it was crazy expensive!!! Play CB/S in football, it's with CFL rules but they still run a fair bit. I don't really have a fav game but I do have a fav game. 2 years ago, in October, there was like a crazy blizzard, hard to see anyone and the field was messy, the ball was slippery. On the 1st possesion of the game, we stopped them and they were punting the ball away. The guy beside me, basically bull rushed to the punter and I just ran right behind him. He blocked the ball and it landed right in front of me. At the end of the game we owned the other team and I think I got 1 INT and 3 fumble recovers We were all soaked afterwards, the best celebration? Truffle shuffle ;D

I played corner and NT in high school, small school. I didnt bother playing other sports except for fun, but when we'd play 5 on 5 basketball i'd either play center or point guard.
In my junior year of high school i tore my left ACL... problem was it was a sandlot game not even a school game. No pads low contact and i had some dude grab me by my ankle and instead of being smart i fought through it and snap there it went.

Only football I ever played was in grade 8. Was a school league I played wide receiver for 2 games caught one or two TD's don't really remember.. Then I broke my hand.. not playing I had/have anger issues and back then I wasn't overly good at dealing with them, so I punched the ground after a stupid play and yea.. broke my hand! Sad thing was it was Volleyball season too and I only ever got to play one game! My own stupidity.
I also used to play a lot with my friends! My group of friends were all really good athletes. and we would play all sorts of sports all summer long but our favorite was football! I remember this a lot better cause it was tackle not touch like the grade school football! I am not very big and never have I been very big I was one of the smaller kids in my class.. and yet I was one of the hardest people to tackle there is something to be said for speed, will and a low center of gravity! My favorite memory was one of the first times I actually played football with my friends.. know one really knew what I was capable of cause I didn't have a lot of confidence before about grade 7 and I would just kinda always take a back seat role and just kinda try not to stand out.
So this time I was the last of the older kids picked and I was okay with that but I got a little irked because I was taken after a few of the younger brothers.. so we finally had however many per side and we started getting our asses kicked.. our offense was doing nothing I was just running routes and taking one coverer away from covering my better friends.. We started losing pretty badly so finally I got fed up (I don't like losing) and I walked up to my friends as the other team were getting ready to kick off and I was like "Let me field this ball" and they all looked at me like I was nuts.. so I said "let me field this ball or I will be the one that tackles you!" so of course they let me..
I took off my shoes, other team kicked us the ball I ran under it and caught it I started sprinting down the field and I saw the other team confident that they would tackle me so I opened up and I sprinted directly past the slower kids.. then the better of my friends started trying to tackle me.. first one got a stiff arm in the chest and and rolled over backwards.. second one I deked out pretty hard then I out ran them the rest of them.. and the fastest kid in our class was slowly catching up to me I had passed him somewhere.. but when he did catch me I shook him off and ran in for the TD! The best part was the look on everyones faces being like "holy shit where did that come from!"
I returned the next kick off as well.. I didn't get another TD but it took the biggest kid in our class to take me down.. He tried to tackle me I didn't go down the first time, I actually kinda go past him then he grabbed me be the shirt and dragged me down hard!
Needless to say I was never picked after the younger kids again.. actually I was taken within the first few picks usually after that.. Thats when my love of football really started!
I would have played highschool football for sure! had I actually gone to highschool.. but that is a story for another time!
Also was Pitcher/Catcher in baseball, and a pretty good badminton player.. I made it out of my school and into cities every year I played.

That's an awesome story Jindred, I never had the balls to return the kickoff in my sandlot games or in real football, I avoided special teams my TE year because the kids hit way harder and they run at you full sprint... Easy way to get injured, I played ST in practice like three times and I got rocked all three times..... When I was blocking.. Yeah. I hated it.

I would just run my routes and cover ppl. Eventually I would get the INTs and when the INTs came, I got balls coming my way too. My friend still joke that I catch everything that come my way. Every recess we would play football/baseball/basketball/mini stick (hockey) and basically anything else even skipping lunch to do so
