5 games left and the bengals are somehow back in the race. the odds are still against them, but this team has a chance to do something they havent done in over 30 years. make the playoffs in back to back years
the chargers game will be a trap game. it wont be as easy as it was against the chiefs or raiders
now to look at the positives and negatives of this game
positives: phillip rivers has thrown 14 interceptions and been sacked 32 times this year, both are top 5 worst in the league. the bengals are 8th in the league against the pass, and is 2nd in the nfl with sacks. andy dalton has thrown 9 TD's in his last 3 games, and is almost at 3000 yards on the season. a.j green leads in the nfl in receiving TD's and did score a TD in 9 of his last 10 games. last week that streak broke, and hes already passed the 1000 yard mark. the bengals have averaged at least 200 rushing yards on the ground the last 2 games
negatives: rivers has thrown for his best completion percentage ever in his career. TE antonio gates has 80 career TD's and is one shy away from the all time record in chargers franchise. bengals WR mohamed sanu who was starting to emerge at WR got injured in practice and is out for the season
like i mentioned eariler, starting rookie WR mohamed sanu got hurt in practice and is done for the year. this really hurts the team because they just finally got a WR that was emerging and now they have to find someone else to emerge once again
--------------------------
besides the bengals, there are still teams i need to lose to help them out in the playoff race
the 7-4 colts and 6-5 steelers remain in both wildcard spots for now. the steelers could be a realistic option to jump ahead of when its all said and done, but the colts schedule is alot harder than the steelers right now and i think this is a more realistic choice for the bengals to jump ahead. either way, neither team is a lock to make it in the playoffs yet, so both teams i can still root against
the 5-6 dolphins are still in the mix, but barely. 2 more losses and they are out. 9-7 might not even be enough for them
the teams on there last hopes that are all 4-7 are the chargers, titans, jets, and bills. one more loss for any of these teams and its game over
so heres what i need to happen today
JAC @ BUF - JAC W
IND @ DET - DET W
HOU @ TEN - HOU W
NE @ MIA - NE W
ARI @ NYJ - ARI W
CIN @ SD - CIN W
PIT @ BAL - BAL W
the odds look good in my favor IMO. i see the texans, patriots, and ravens all winning today like they are suppose to. and i actually think the lions will pull and upset on the colts today to go to 7-5. titans elimated, dolphins go to 5-7, and steelers drop to 6-6
i see the bills and jets winning though to get back to 5-7 to fight another day though
PREDICTION
if all goes well today, the bengals will jump ahead of the steelers in the wildcard race. what matches up well for this team is the running game. i know the chargers are very good against the run, but the bengals cant stop running the football now. stick with the gameplan. plus the chargers OL has given up alot of sacks, and that doesnt go well with the bengals who are top 5 in sacks
this game could be closer and i think it will be a close game. scoreboard wise will say we won "comfortably" but i expect it to be closer

will be planning on watching the colts and lions game at first, and i will have the patriots and dolphins as my 2nd game. gonna also watch cardinals and jets, texans and titans, and jaguars and bills too probably for extra games
2nd slate of games i will be watching the bengals and chargers, but as well as the steelers and ravens

hope everybody enjoys another good day of nfl football. let the race continue
