the return of carson palmer is today. the bad news is its blacked out. and 2 weeks ago when the giants game was blacked out, i had no clue it blacked the games on direct TV too so i was disappointed
time to look at the positives and negatives of this game
positives: the bengals are ranked 3rd in the nfl in sacks with 31. geno atkins and michael johnson combine for 15 of those sacks. andy dalton is 7th in the league with TD passes with 21. a.j green leads all WR's in TD passes with 10 and 5th in receiving yard with over 900. benjarvus green ellis rushed for over 100 yards last week on the chiefs, the 1st time this season. and backup RB cedric peerman rushed for 75 yards.
negatives: carson palmer is 3rd in the nfl with passing yards. palmer will be motivated to beat the team he played his whole career with. raiders lately have been struggling to finish games on defense and special teams, mainly michael huff is the big struggles. the bengals LB's like vontaze burfict and rey maualuga have struggled against the pass alot this year, despite being good against the run.
i didnt mention this in the positives, but this is a big positive i wanted to mention.
under marvin lewis, when a bengals QB throws for over 300 yards, they are 7-16. when they have a RB that runs over 100 yards, they are 33-7. thats pretty damn crazy

the real playoff race as offically started thursday as well, as now teams are looking to get in the playoffs. the bengals chances for the division are pretty much done, despite them still being alive. there best chance remains as one of the wildcards
steelers and colts are both 6-4 with the wildcard spots. steelers will play the browns, and colts will play the bills
in the hunt remains a couple of 4-6 teams like the chargers, titans, bills and dolphins. jets are 4-7 and raiders are 3-7. any team with 8 losses is out of the race in my book. sorry chiefs, jaguars, and browns......
therefore i need the following to happen today
OAK @ CIN - CIN W
PIT @ CLE - CLE W
BUF @ IND - BUF W
TEN @ JAC - JAC W
SEA @ MIA - SEA W
BAL @ SD - BAL W
the only teams i think that will win today though are the bengals and seahawks though
cant see the browns, bills or jaguars pulling the upsets. and yes i think the chargers will pull an upset on the ravens this week

that final stat i showed you of what happens when the bengals throw for over 300 yards or 100 yards of rushing is important. that was the big key of success in 2009 with cedric benson.
if the team lets law firm pound the ball, we should win if he can produce. dont let dalton too much, or he will turn it over. most importantly, dont let palmer get a hot start. he will bring his A game today, so time to remind him why he shouldnt of left cincinnati
