New reports have come out that Ben Roethlisberger's SC sprain also did damage to a rib close to heart and aorta. If further damaged, the injury could kill him if the rib presses against his aorta.
Well at least there is a silver lining to this. It will force the Steelers to keep Ben out of action until he fully heals and they won't be able to rush him back like last year with his high ankle sprain. Hopefully, he will be healthy for the playoffs (assuming Byron Leftwich is able to hold down the fort enough to squeeze the Steelers into the playoffs). Either way, making sure this rare injury is fully healthy takes priority even if it means missing the playoffs. Here's hoping Ben makes a full recovery.

Not a conspiracy theorist but it sure was convenient since his wife is giving birth to their first this weekend. He was already approved to miss the game "if necesary ". Just sayin

Man, this is bad stuff. I was aware of his injury, but didn't know the seriousness of it until I read your thread and then went to check on Rotoworld.com for myself. Ugh!
