another series win for the reds. reds are for real now. beating the pirates without votto and phillips this week. pulling the sweep tommorrow is unlikely since burnett is pitching tommorrow, but who knows
if this isnt the best team in all of baseball right now, i dont know who is......

The best team in baseball is a slight stretch... They are certainly the hottest team in baseball right now I will give you that, but beating the Pirates in a series doesn't make them TOTALLY for real. You caught them with a new pitcher(Rodriguez) and a struggling James McDonald and the officiating was HORRIBLE(or so I've heard, I didn't get to see the series cuz I was out of town). Pirates players were hit FOUR times and WE were the ones that got the warning? Then Clint Hurdle gets ejected for saying like 4 words to the umpire about it who pretty much baited him. Not to mention the strike zone was all over the place for the Pirates. There will be retribution the next time we meet up(still got 6 games against you guys). Some Reds player is getting hit. I think the Pirates playing to their realistic potential(like they were in June and early-mid July) would give the Reds a run for their money. You also gotta love what A.J. Burnett is doing right now. He has been just as important to this team as Andrew McCutchen has been. He is a dark horse candidate for the NL Cy Young right now and could easily be a top contender towards the end of the season if he keeps this rate up. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets it, but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't get it either since I don't think the Pirates have totally earned the respect of the rest of the league yet.

All I know is I'm happy it looks like JMac is improving from his 4 game horridness. He didn't pitch that bad of a game, just had no offensive help. We got 4 against the D-Backs and I'm sure we'll at least take 3-4 if not a sweep.
Who knows...maybe when the Reds get Votto back they won't be as hot. You never know what can happen.

Cardinals coming back!
Reds are on fire so its time to start hoping the Pirates fall apart. Which I don't think they will.

Which I don't think they will. unfortunately, the reds are NOT on fire anymore. they are on a 3 game losing streak, but are leading the brewers 2-0 right now the fight for the NL central is back in business now. gonna be tough to decide on who is gonna come out on top. i think at least 2 of these teams will make the playoffs. all 3 will not make it though. reds are focusing on more than the division though now. we want that #1 seed from the nationals
