If you already had Windows 7 or Windows 8, you get Windows 10 for free. It just showed up last month in my updates where I get the pop-ups in the bottom right corner of my desktop. It said I was eligible for the free upgrade since I had Windows 7. As far as I know, the offer is only limited to users with Windows 7 or 8. I downloaded it last night and installed it. Hey, I gotta be one of the biggest users here, but well after you, so it's anybody's guess. Really, not getting squat in my lower right. Maybe settings. Or conspiracy. www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

My computer crashed bad like I've never seen (right after the download finished). Stuff was flashing like taskbars, mozilla & IE not responding, no internet connection, error message saying Windows 10 Setup failed. Please try again or something like that. Rebooted and thank God all is fine. *****QUESTION: Did you need your Windows 7 or 8.1 key code? It never asked, and I wouldn't know how to find it. It was OEM and I have no disk. There is free software that can find the code. Naturally a few mixed reviews that it contains spyware, doesn't even work, etc. So not sure I wanna make it a project that will only make things worse. Thanks!

No, I don't believe you need a code. I didn't. Thanks. Now that link is doing nothing at all when I click on it. In Mozilla maybe that's the problem.

I hate Windows 10 so much I want to report Microsoft to the FBI for terrorism. The amount of emotional and psychological distress it's causing it's end users is equivalent to mass terrorism. Terrible piece of software. Absolute piece of shit. I've never spent more time looking at my computer with a confused look on my face shouting "WHAT...THE...ACTUAL...FUCK?"
They tried making it sleek like a phone app. Unfortunately, it's too confusing. It's made a lot of the basic functions of the previous versions of Windows entirely way too hard.
I used to laugh when I was a teenager and young adult when people twice my age couldn't figure out technology. Windows 10 makes me feel like one of those old people.

What was your previous version of Windows? Windows 7.

What was your previous version of Windows? Windows 7. I figured lol. If you had spent time on windows 8, you would likely have different feelings about windows 10. 10 is like a simplified windows 8.. My remedy for your issue. Go play around on windows 8 for a while and it will make you appreciate 10!
