Now I do think both sides would benefit from a settlement and are probably more willing to do so now than a couple of weeks ago. However I do not think Brady's position has changed and I there is little evidence that the NFL's position has changed either.

Sounds done to me. A settlement is a win-win since that deadline leaves me no reason to believe this will be tried by September. And that injunction isn't happening so don't get your hopes up.

patriotsk1d I thought you bet craig440 that this would be won in trial? I've heard plenty of talking heads speaking for weeks like that was what was going to happen. edit: my dad also thinks so.

No I said it would go to court, never by any means said trial and it has got to court. I wouldnt be surprised if Brady sues the NFL for defamation after this is all over and he will have pretty good evidence as a result of the emails released between the NFL and the Patriots. Although honestly I could care less about a celebrity collecting more millions in a defamation case.

Injunction will not matter since this case is expected to be wrapped up by September 4th. Arguments are schedule for August 19th(if necessary). The Judge has already stated he will expedite the process.

Recent reports state the NFL may have significant motive to settle to avoid the public release of several unfavorable documents.

A lot of records being released today and lets just say they do not look favorable to the NFL. 457 pages of stuff have been released today, but the initial documents look very favorable for Brady and make the NFL look really bad. Should know a lot more later tonight.

Should know a lot more later tonight. Page 372 is Brady confessing to bribing folks to deflate his footballs. Also he wouldn't turn over his phone because he was cheating on his wife with the ball boy

I was somewhat skeptical of the league's position on deflategate, initially, I din't even believe the Well's report. One thing I missed is Goodell's prepared statement that came out after the appeal. I really should have read this. Particularly the "II factual determinations and findings" subsection is damning against Tom Brady and the Patriots to what the league accused them of. Section IV B: "what role, if any, did Mr. Brady have in the scheme to tamper with the footballs?" is quite convincing, and recaps the story better than any sports media coverage I have yet seen. static.nfl.com/static/content/public/photo/2015/07/28/0ap3000000504265.pdf
