Ahh this asshole again. if they do have the best defense in history it wont be because of Rex freakin Ryan. All they did was go sign a bunch of elite def players. Alot like the Yankees do. Spend boo koos of money on top talent. They are trying to buy a superbowl but guess what? They have no offense and no coach. Rex Ryan doesnt have a clue how to coach. I hope you're talking about Rexy and not Nate. Don't think you can compare this to a sport with no salary cap. In the NFL, something's gotta give. You're robbing Peter to pay Paul. There is total parity, unless you cheat like *cough* nevermind. If a team doesn't spend its money, they don't deserve to exist. BTW...The 2000 Ravens have the best def in history. They never gave up the amount of points that the Bears did to Marino and Co. I told you not to do it with that bold-faced lie, but you went there anyway. Ravens were probably in the worst division in history. They didn't have to face Dan Marino either. Look, I watched that Bears team all season. Nobody even talks about that Ravens team. I'd be willing to argue the 2013 Seahawks is one of if not the best defense in history. Lets see another defense shut down the 2013 Broncos offense the way the Hawks did in the superbowl, after averaging 14.4 pts against all season long. What makes them twice as impressive as most of the other greats especially say the 85 Bears or the Steel Curtain defense, is that the rules of the game now make it WAY harder on defense's than ever before. Not to mention offensive play calling has become more and more intricate over the years. I say the 2013 Seahawks stand up pretty well in any era of football, especially ones where the pass interference rules are more relaxed.

I say the 2013 Seahawks stand up pretty well in any era of football, especially ones where the pass interference rules are more relaxed. This is true in theory, but I don't think that argument can be used to make the 13 Seahawks look better. Seattle's defense that year played like the rules didn't apply to them....Which sounds crazy on the surface but it's actually brilliant in practice. The Seahawks defense in 2013 very frequently did things that used to be allowed but aren't anymore. They blatantly ignored the no-contact rule that protects WRs, and they committed PI extremely often as well. They played like an old school defense that year. Seattle figured out that referees are unwilling to continuously throw flag after flag after flag for interference or defensive holding, even if the defense deserves them all. If they flagged Seattle's D every time they deserved a flag in 2013, every game of theirs would've had the pace of a snail.. All of their games would've lasted forever. So the Seahawks took advantage of the fact that the referees are human and that games are generally supposed to start and finish within a specific time frame. If the referees were robots who didn't care about how long games last, Seattle would've been a bad team that year imo. Or at least, certainly worse than a 13-3 regular season record.

The best defense of all time was the early sixties Chargers. I got on the bus with them and the defensive line players, Earl Fasion, Ernie Ladd, Ron Nery, etc scared the crap out of me. Made me cry. I was seven. haha. Best defense ever.

They refused to play us. Maybe it was the Chicago Bears. I forget who the chickens were.

I'm going there. If you account for everything, the 76 Steelers and 91 Eagles have the best defenses of all time www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/2009/3/10/775679/a-statistical-analysis-on

I'm sure I've told this story a million times on here, but in 2004, I was at a Bills/Browns game in which the Bills set their franchise record for fewest yards allowed against.
