I did, however, give up the chance at winning the 80%/20% split, which would have got me over $1,100. cityofchamps- That $515 is still a $415 profit from my initial $100 investment. I did concede my chances of winning over $1,100. Think I made the right call, ya'll? Yea, that was the right call under the circumstances. $415 profit isn't bad at all.

Sorry I'm late to the party. Sounds like you made a deal. Which is okay. Sorry I didn't catch your call last night Eddie. I was busy with family stuff.

Eddie if your motivations are towards helping the other guy, then I would still take the 50-50. Because then if you win and he loses 200 you'll feel bad about winning, which is the worst.

He already made the deal. Did you check out his link to the matchup? Look at my last post. It is NOT 50/50, or even close IMO. I would put 4-1 (80/20) of my own money on his opponent, so the offer he accepted was very good. Eddie would have to be delusional to think he had a shot as it stands right now. IMO, his opponent is conceding 15% for the sure deal cuz he's strapped for cash. Then Eddie instilled some goodwill and maybe professional perks, he made out like a bandit IMHO.

@eddiej2010 He's a car salesman, one of the Top salesman. This tells me all I need to know, hope you had your notebook and wrote this down you had your first lesson. When he gave you that first offer he was feeling you out and without asking you directly he found the price you would settle for when you said "I may consider $500 cash" at that point you lost all chances for a 50/50 split. He may or may not be hurting for money,he already had you on the hook all he had to do was reel ya in an his little story worked like a charm.
It looked like a close match-up and if given time you could poke holes in both line-ups. In the end you made the right choice and accepted the $515 cash offer, not bad for your $100 investment. You paid the admission price and your lessons have begun, if by some chance you win, in the long run you will gain more by what he can teach you about your job.

Im late to the party also. I agree with what steelers said. He already gave you your first lesson.
Never talk in dollar amounts about what you would take.
Even though you already made the deal...I would have let it play out for 50/50. Thats the advice I would have gave.

Eddie, gotta say this was also my 1st impression. Told you how pissed I would've been at his 1st offer. And like Jeffrey, very skeptical at the timing of his desperation - seriously, think about that. Also wouldn't hold my breath on him revealing his best sales secrets on a promise, especially if you work together. That said, I still you were beat and got a good deal - as of Wed afternoon. You said he offered $515 and wouldn't budge. That should tell you something. He might still be a great guy, just part of a good salesperson's makeup. lol EDIT: Originally chose to ignore the car salesman aspect cuz 1) it's what Eddie is now doing 2) doesn't mean their biz persona is pervasive in every other aspect of their lives.

you have NO bench whatsoever except for Knile Davis, YIKES. I messed up. Washington got a...wait a minute - you have Nate, not Leon. Nevermind. lmao Heard them say 'Leon', and I'm like omg what idiots - and why aren't they recording his TD??? Had to go to the Titans roster, sure enough both there. hahaha
