I suppose maybe I'm being cynical. But to me, to believe in reincarnation lessens the value of human life. Why? Because it means death isn't the end. So maybe it's not so bad that so and so killed his wife, or child, or a stranger. Because they'll be reincarnated and have another go, right? Don't take this as me critiquing you Jindred, because honestly, I'm not saying it's not possible. I just think it cheapens the life we have now. As to the human soul, the idea of a soul being reincarnated into what boils down to a dumb animal is odd to me. And how would you explain the surges in the human population? I mean, it's growing at such a rate it's almost crazy to think souls are not unique right? I don't know numbers right now, but I would say we have a few billion more people now than we did 150 years ago. Where are the extra souls coming from? I really don't see it that way because "YOU" still die. There will never be another Morkim or another Jindred, these persona's are gone and dead in my eyes once they die. Our personalities die with our brains and bodies, our soul may remember them but every life is new and every life is precious. As far as murdering someone thats always a bad thing as you are stealing a being who will never again be in the world, a persona that is unique has been ripped from the world and not of the choosing of the soul living in that persona. No to mention I believe things like murder and rape to damage the soul. Suicide becomes a grey area with the beliefs I have developed and I am still really not sure what to make of it.. To me its an unthinkable act as I couldn't do it to those I love, but what of people who don't have loved ones? Is it such a horrible thing for a person who has nobody to hurt with it? Its odd as in my eyes I see the idea of an afterlife such as heaven to cheapen human or animal life. (Humans and animals aren't all that different in my eyes.) You are essentially living a life to die, and decide what happens to you when you die. The way I see it is my next incarnation doesn't matter it isn't "me" I am living this life for me.. not for my next life, not for an afterlife but purely for my own enjoyment. To me being reincarnated as an animal = far better life than human. Human life is too damn complicated always having to deal with other people, and money and stress and blah blah blah.. As an animal you just live, plain and simple. You find food and water and you live, you don't worry, you aren't self concious, you don't have to deal with trying not to offend people.. It all sounds like paradise to me. In your eyes are there a limited number of souls in the universe then? At least if reincarnation is true? Cause that's not how I see it And even if there were how do you know there aren't alien races who have gone extinct and those souls gone on to be human.. Not to mention all the species of animals we have killed off over the years, and general far lower number of many other species of endangered species. I also don't think a soul would always choose to incarnate.. I think some souls just be. I think souls outnumber the living and are just part of the universe.. I believe in reincarnation, Most of the rest of the stuff is just speculation on my part. TBH the afterlife may just be what your soul makes of it, maybe if a person believes deep enough their soul creates a heaven or a hell for them. Who knows how the physical world effects the ethereal.. My beliefs aren't set in stone and are prone to continue changing, I know more about what I don't believe than what I do believe..

In reference to kindred..'...I wouldn't want to come back as a deer, fish, possum, cow,or a wilderbeast from Africa. All those animals have worse to worry about other than the light bill...lpl.

Well that depends on what animal you come back as. What if you came back as something like a deer, where you had to be constantly on the run from Tigers, Lions, and human hunters?

You still don't worry. Humans are the only beings capable of pre-emptive worrying as we are the only beings on earth who have the concept of time. A deer doesn't worry about being eaten until it is in the situation where it is possibly going to be eaten and even then the fear it feels is used as it is supposed to be used and causes it to react. Animals are always in the now as to them there is nothing else. They have no concept of future or past, for them there is only now.
