Game 2 November 1st, 2014 Cleveland 102 - 95 BostonIn a gritty defensive contest, the Cavaliers trump the Celtics behind strong performance from their benchKyrie Irving - 21 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists Dion Waiters - 9 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists LeBron James - 24 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists Tristan Thompson - 6 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assists Spencer Hawes - 11 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assists NOTABLE BENCH PERFORMANCE - Jabari Parker - 16 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist in 15 minutes of action Bench: 31 points, 18 rebounds, 8 assists Rajon Rondo - 24 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists Avery Bradley - 9 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists Shawn Marion - 21 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist Jared Sullinger - 17 points, 11 rebounds Omer Asik - 13 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists NOTABLE BENCH PERFORMANCE: Jerryd Bayless - 5 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists in 14 minutes of action Bench: 11 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists
In what was a gritty game throughout, it was the bench of the Cleveland Cavaliers, led by star rookie Jabari Parker, that put the team on top to close out the game to advance to 2-0 on the season. It also does not hurt when your star player gets 12 attempts at the charity strike while connecting on 11 of them, which is exactly what LeBron James did. James is a career 75% free throw shooter, so him hitting at a 92% clip was big in helping Cleveland win the game. While coach Mike Brown is still deciding on how he is going to distribute the minutes on his very talented bench, one thing holds true - Cleveland wanted to have a better bench core this year and it appears that they have succeeded. As for Boston, they are a very defensive-oriented club, with 4 of their 5 starters top-tier defenders at their position; something that will keep them in a lot of games. They are going to need rookie Aaron Gordon and veteran Vince Carter to step up off the bench to hold the fort down when the starters take to the bench.

November 1st, 2014
- The Miami Heat is not looking to lose either of Dwayne Wade or Chris Bosh the same way that LeBron James left them this past offseason. To ensure this, they re-upped both of the star players to new contracts on the 30th. Chris Bosh received a 4-year extension worth $45,330,000 and Dwayne Wade received a 3=year extension worth $57,410,000. The Heat will look to add on another star player at the end of the season. - There were a few other contract extensions from around the league as well: - Nick Young, LAL received a 3-year extension worth $6,560,000
- Khris Middleton, MIL received a 4-year extension worth $16,840,000
- Glen Davis, LAC received a 4-year extension worth $23,240,000
- Mo Williams, POR received a 3-year extension worth $7,190,000
- Eric Maynor, PHI received a 2-year extension worth $6,220,000
The big talk around the league right now deals with the possible contract extensions and situations that surround three premier players in the NBA; Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Love, and Rajon Rondo. The talk concerning Anthony is that he does not want to commit to anything yet even though that the Knicks have told him that they want to get something done as soon as possible. With Kevin Love, rumors are that he wants out of Minnesota, which might force the team to deal the star forward before the deadline to get at least some compensation for him. As of this point, no one is sure about the Rondo situation. People close to the team believe that he will be dealt at some point this season, but it is currently up in the air. While the season is young and has just begun, that will not stop some of the best players around the league from suffering injuries. We already have a few major injuries around the league that will sideline players for a long period of time. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
is still recovering from the torn MCL that he suffered last season, and it is assumed that he will not return for another 4-6 months. Joakim Noah is suffering from a strained Achilles and will be sidelined for 2-4 months. Fresh off a new contract, Dwayne Wade
tore his Hamstring and will be out of action for 6-8 weeks. The last major injury to a marquee player is Dwight Howard, who has a broken Wrist and will miss 4-6 weeks.

Cleveland took to their home floor for the first time this season and took on the Toronto Raptors. Everyone was caught off guard when the Raptors were hitting almost everything in the 1st quarter en route to a 38-point team performance, leaving Cleveland down by 14 early on. The lead jumped up all the way to about 20 and the Raptors lead remained in the 12-15 point range for a large portion of the first half. It was not until the 3rd quarter where Cleveland came to life, one-upping the Raptors to have a 39-point 3rd quarter, giving Cleveland a 5-point lead heading into the 4th, where the Cavs were able to hold on to an eventual 4-point victory, the first at home for the Cavaliers and giving them a 3-0 start to the season. Bench guys like Ben Gordon and Jabari Parker came up big for the Cavs when their starters were off of the floor and helped keep Cleveland afloat when they were losing. The Raptors overachieved this game and it was almost enough to knock off one of the Eastern Conference favorites. If we can see this kind of performance from Pierre Jackson and DeMar Derozan more often, the Raptors can make some noise this year.

tried to do one last year, but fell apart. I was thinking, what if we created a fake identity and had everyone on the board ghostwrite tons of content?

Game 4 November 6th, 2014 Chicago 108 - 115 ClevelandLeBron puts Cleveland on his back in 2nd half en route to victory over Bulls.Derrick Rose - 19 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists Jimmy Butler - 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists Nikola Mirotic - 25 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist Taj Gibson - 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists Carlos Boozer - 16 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists NOTABLE BENCH PERFORMANCE: Boris Diaw - 8 points, 4 rebounds in 19 minutes of action Bench: 23 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assistsKyrie Irving - 19 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists Dion Waiters - 17 points, 1 assist LeBron James - 37 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists Tristan Thompson - 18 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist Spencer Hawes - 2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist NOTABLE BENCH PERFORMANCE - Jabari Parker - 6 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists in 31 minutes of action Bench: 22 points, 27 rebounds, 11 assists
Chicago is always a tough team playing anyone, and that held true tonight as the Bulls played toe to toe with the Cavaliers throughout the entire game, and even led going into the 4th quarter where it took a LeBron James one-man show to will the Cavs back for the eventual 115-108 victory. With Joakim Noah out for Chicago, the Bulls once again had to inset Carlos Boozer to the center spot, moving Taj Gibson to the starting lineup. While Noah was a hurtful loss for the Bulls, it forced the Cavaliers to change their gameplan half-way through the game. Because Gibson and Boozer were there and both had quickness and range, Cleveland turned to rookie Jabari Parker to handle heavy duty defending Gibson as LeBron James had his focus on defending star point guard Derrick Rose all game. Parker did not get his shot to go as he went a paltry 2-13 from the floor, but with 14 rebounds and 6 assists, he came up big in his first big minute showcase of the season. But it was ultimately LeBron James who once again brought Cleveland on top, going 11-11 from the free throw line for the game. It does not hurt when you make 24 free throws as a team for the game, either. The Bulls hope to get their star center back soon, but for now, Cleveland gets the win.
