From the title of this thread, many of you might already have a befuddled look on your face as you open it, or maybe you clicked on it thinking I'm trolling for attention. I was taking a nap on my couch the other day with NFL Network on in the background. Man...that Lindsay Rose...what dreams she can conjure up...yeah...I'd like to...anyways, when I woke up, Roddy White was on, as was Charles Tillman and a few other guys, talking about the recently released bracket of the top 100 players of 2012. Roddy White was defending himself, because in an interview with Seahawks corner and all around ass clown Richard Sherman, Sherman had said something like Roddy White didn't deserve to be in the top 100, blah, blah, blah. First off, I don't give a fuck about Richard Sherman; he's a garbage human being who tries to intimidate people with words and then the sheep fans think he's actually a better player than he really is because his name's in the media all the time. What I actually liked about the segment was that Roddy White got to actually stand up for himself and retort, instead of the media just fluffing Richard Sherman and not listening to anybody else's side of the story. But here's the thing: this is the second time in the off season Sherman has publicly called out Roddy White. They're not division rivals, so there's no added animosity there. My only conclusion is that Richard Sherman has a hard on for Roddy White.
Now, with everyone else, Richard Sherman just pops off and makes a complete fucking joke of himself and the Seahawks by randomly choosing someone else in the NFL and trashing their good name for absolutely no reason other than his parents didn't hug him enough and he wants the attention. Classic self important, young NFL millionaire, primadonna bullshit, "I have an audience, what should I feed these sheep today?" But with White, there's a reoccurring theme. As far as I know, Roddy White isn't a huge shit talker. He doesn't go out of his way to berate or belittle his opponents, degrade them, insult them, or rub it in their faces if he scores. So again I'm left to question why Richard Sherman has it out for Roddy.
I totally didn't start this thread to turn it into a debate about homosexuality. I don't judge people...well, maybe except for terrorists and pedophiles, but other than that, who the fuck am I to judge someone else? But again, totally not trying to spark a "Gay: what are your thoughts?" type deal, and I really mean that, but I look at an overrated young corner out there in Seattle putting his foot in his mouth every time he picks up his smart phone and tweets something, and I have to question if he's really not just in love with some of his colleagues in the NFL. Maybe we're all mistaking his idiotic and wildly misplaced rage for a deeper emotion, one that maybe even HE doesn't even know he has. Will Richard Sherman be the NFL's first gay athlete?

Sherman and White had big beef in the divisional playoff game this past season. That's what this all comes from.
Sherman is arguably the best CB in the league, regardless of whether or not you don't like his big mouth.
The guy being gay wouldn't change that, highly doubt he's gay though.

IDT he's gay either. Although he does have a hard on for Roddy. A little research confirmed EagleDomiKnation assertion about how it started: www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/13/richard-sherman-golf-clap-roddy-white_n_2468874.htmlEssentially, Sherman won the 1st round, breaking up a pass to Roddy, and Roddy won the 2nd round blowing right by him for a TD, to put the Falcons up 20-0 after all that yapping. Adding to Sherman's 'humiliation' was the fact he lost his footing and fell during that play. The "intimidation" you mention is just a tool to get into the opponent's head. Think I heard Sherman once remark how good Cortland Finnergan was at it. True, Andre Johnson was a division rival during that incident that everyone's seen. It's pretty much no more than smack talk. Sherman is just more effective at it than most others, and apparently truly enjoys running his mouth. He probably figures 'if it works, it works - if not it's still fun, so why not'. He's a natural. hehe It's not like he's a dirty player. So I kinda like him, mostly for chuckles and entertainment value. As for Roddy White, he's given it back nflspacenetwork.blogspot.com/2013/06/roddy-white-richard-sherman-talked-way.html - just not as humorously. He also got last laugh on that stupid list. Look, they both know how good they are, and so do their fans.

Sherman is arguably the best CB in the league, regardless of whether or not you don't like his big mouth. The guy being gay wouldn't change that, highly doubt he's gay though. Richard Sherman is not the best CB in the league. As I mentioned in my op, when you do things that put your name in the media a lot, fans recognize your name a lot easier, and think you're a lot better than you are. Actions speak louder than words. Look at Tom Brady - he wasn't making the rounds on late night talk shows or doing magazine interviews trashing Peyton Manning and Steve McNair after he won his first Superbowl. He didn't need to. He was an elite QB whose play spoke for itself. Me not liking Sherman's big mouth has absolutely nothing to do with him being a classless human being - the two are independent of each other. Every time some jag off puts a camera in front of him, he spews so much anger and vitriol, it's like, 'Whoa, dude, calm the fuck down! You're talking like you're going to go out, file the serial number off a nine and shoot the dude's family.' Now, if it was cute little back and forth, that's one thing. Everyone loves a good shit talker. They make the game fun. But when some asshole speaks out against his colleagues in the league like he's LITERALLY going to shank them the next time they play each other, and it's just him completely randomly popping off at the mouth, you're left to question the shmuck's character, his upbringing, and again, whether or not his "hatred" is in fact really just another emotion he hasn't gotten in touch with yet. Hey - Jason Collins came out and look at all the support he got.

I don't think you can just say since Sherman is a big mouth means that he is gay. A weird and over-conclusion. There have been other loud mouths in the NFL, TO and Randy Moss but no one would think they are gay. It is just the 'gay movement' now a days.

I said arguably the best CB. You can't deny that for a second. And like it or not, his attitude is loved by Seattle fans and media. Its entertainment and we all know if roddy and him were to meet on the street, they'd probably end up shooting the shit together. I actually thought that you would like Sherman's bluntness Nate?

NFLfootball11, it depends on your definition of gay... LOL. I know the sexual orientation one doesn't fit, but the unfortunate slang part of gay does. @topic - A funny site I found while searching for a picture of Sherman and his girlfriend was this: www.gay-or-straight.com/Richard%20ShermanHowever it says on another site he was with a stunning women of asian decent and now is either dating a latina or mixed white/black girl. It does intrigue me though, cause it would explain the over the top rooster act he puts on, like over compensating. And the truth is in his photos, he doesn't look like an asshole at all. He doesn't have the deep lines, or the crooked eyebrows. Best way to show you is a photo of myself, sorry if it breaks your screens. www.flickr.com/photos/justinebright/8941735363/lightbox/Now you can see my face looks quite normal like that, cause I'm pissed off a lot. Compare that to Sherman: www.sportsgrid.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/ShermSkip.jpgYou can see, even in the moment when he was ranting on Bayless, that he doesn't share the same anger characteristics, and you can tell he actually smiles a lot, rarely getting mad. This is just speculation, because I can see both sides of the argument. Maybe he just likes to talk shit and put on a big game to intimidate and nothing else, however I can't find a single photo with him and a girl, and that's very odd for an athlete, especially one with the exposer he had last year.

Richard Sherman is a mediocre CB who everyone thinks is better than he really is because his name is always in the media. That's the fickle sports media, and the fickle sports fans of America. I was voting on the top 100 players of 2012 on NFL.com, where they had you compare 2 players, and vote for which one was better, and after x amount of votes, it would give you your personalized top ten list. After every person you voted for, it would show who was voted for the most between the two players you were choosing from, and what percentage of people voted for whom. I saw A LOT of great players being outvoted for players who were simply media darlings or more recognizable figures. In the pro wrestling world, the term for idiot fans is "marks." Look - Richard Sherman isn't dissing people and telling them to bring it. He's berating them, dressing them down, and comparing them to dog shit. Over what? He woke up that day, his boyfriend didn't kiss him before he went to work, so he hops on twitter, selects a random member of the NFL community and decides to drop bombs on people? That's not trash talking. That's fucking ignorance from the mouth of a petty, small little child with no character. You ever actually see an interview with Sherman? I'm not talking about reading one, I'm talking about watching one on TV. The guy looks like he's ready to explode and he's got a nine tucked in the back of his pants and he wants to kill the person he's talking about, he doesn't look like if he were to meet Roddy White in person, he'd take him out for a beer, or in Sherman's case - an appletini. I don't want to dis the Seattle market, they're great fans: they're famous for being THE 12th man in the NFL, and have been loyal to that team through years of an inferior product, and now, that loyalty is paying off, as Carroll has that team set to become a serious powerhouse in the NFC led by one of the league's brightest young QB's in Russell Wilson. And I highly doubt their fan base is "eating up" this piece of shit's garbage every time he opens his mouth to attack somebody for absolutely no reason at all. To some, the lesser human beings on this planet, mind you, yeah, that type of shit is entertaining. To people who actually matter, and graduated from high school, Sherman is a fucking degenerate with no class. Again, shit talking is one thing. But to try and compare Sherman to somebody like T.O. or Randy Moss is unfounded. Yeah, they bragged after they scored, and loved riling you up and shoving your nose in it. Sherman wants to track down your parents house and have his homies light it on fire with them in it. HUGE DIFFERENCE.
