Eagles wide receiver, DeSean Jackson, has gone to multiple Pro Bowls and been a serious weapon for the team over the last five seasons. Still, Jackson seemingly has been part of a love-hate relationship with fans and the media. And despite proving his toughness following a new contract, some still question his desire to play hard and be a team player, while discounting his production on the field.
Jackson was taken with the 49th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft and was the seventh wide receiver selected that year. Still, Jackson has proven that his value has greatly superseded his classmates at his position. Of the 35 wide receivers selected, Jackson owns the most receptions, most yards and most total touchdowns in the class. In fact, the only players that sniff Jackson's productivity, are Green Bay's Jordy Nelson, Buffalo's Stevie Johnson and Washington's Pierre Garcon. Even with those three players, the California alum still has 1,500 more receiving yards than Nelson, nine more touchdowns than Johnson and 42 more receptions than Garcon.
Players taken ahead of Jackson like Donnie Avery and Devin Thomas have bounced around the NFL, while others who were taken just after him, like Malcolm Kelly and Limas Sweed, quickly fizzled out of the league. Guys like Harry Douglas, Earl Bennett and Jerome Simpson have been marginal at best. Still, despite his small stature, Jackson has proven to be the pinnacle of the 2008 group.

I don't think you can fairly compare DJax's stats to Stevie Johnson and Pierre Garcon.
Stevie Johnson has never had a good quarterback. In 2008 the starting QB was Trent Edwards who has been a career back-up, then in 2011 Ryan Fitzpatrick who only had four good games in two years. (And just looking at career stats Johnson has three more receiving touchdowns did you mean all around TDs?) DJax does have more receptions and yards but he had Mike Vick in his 2011 year which was almost MVP worthy, while the best QB stretch for Johnson was the weeks when the Bills were No. 1 in the AFC for 5 weeks. The homerism might be talking but Johnson > DJax slightly.
The Garcon case is a little iffy though. Garcon was the third target throughout his time in Indy with Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark getting the bulk of the receptions. This limited his production amount while DJax was the No. 1 or No. 2 (not sure which at the time) in Philly. And Garcon lost half of this year when he was poised for a great year under RG3's command. I don't think you can fairly judge these two because Garcon simply hasn't had the opportunity. To me Garcon = Jackson or Jackson very slightly > Garcon.
No argument for Jordy Nelson though, he's played under an elite QB for his whole career but does have more receiving touchdowns than DeSean Jackson.

The only WR I would rather have over Djax from the 2008 class is Johnson. Jordy Nelson had one crazy great season in which he caught 15 of his 28 career TD passes. Djax has 1,500 more yards than him. Garcon...no way.

I don't understand why you would want people to bash Jackson, but i'll give it some thought and do my best to oblige.
