Seems as though you have some inside info that the rest of us do no not. Most reports have Bell as a huge reach and sites had him no higher than the third round, the two sites that everyone loves around here to reference player projections are CBS and walterfootball....and both those sites had bell as the 5th and 7th best RB respectively. I'm trying real hard to not be a dick, but unless you know Jarvis personally, you can't say he will be in the best shape of his life. Refusing the combine and then putting up bad #'s at his proday is a red flag no matter how you dice it up. The Steeler GM could just be gambling and it could blow up in his face. We never know though

Refusing the combine and then putting up bad #'s at his proday is a red flag no matter how you dice it up. The Steeler GM could just be gambling and it could blow up in his face. We never know though I don't know Jarvis at all, Jones refusing to participate in the combine and having a bad proday had me not wanting him (originally wanted Vaccaro). BUT I do know that he has been working with Ike Taylor and Tom Shaw. There is a very good reason why Taylor was and probably still is one of the most athletic players on the Steelers roster, because of Tom Shaw. He was a big reason why Taylor ran an electronic 4.18 40 at his proday, last time I checked he ran a 4.26 40 at the age of 29 as well as a 42-inch vertical leap. Shaw has actually helped keep many of the Steelers old vets relevant into their old age. I was worried about rumors of Jones not being a "workout warrior" but I feel better that he is in good hands. Bell was considered a 2-3 round prospect by CBS, so he wasn't a huge reach and was picked where he was suppose to. And As I've said, Lacy was no longer on the Steelers board (other teams could have felt the same way). Franklin wasn't much of a blocker or receiver in college and had ball security issues (improved on those in the senior bowl, but that's just one game). But given Franklin's size they might not have felt that he could handle a lot of carries in the NFL.

Franklin is actually pretty stout and runs between the tackles quit well. He only fumbled the ball once all season. We shall see, can't wait to see all these rooks in action

He fumbled three times in a five game stretch last year and it has been a sporadic problem going back earlier in his career." --Rob Rang

Must have been 2011 season. He fumbled one time in 2012 according to his draft profile.
