Hi all
I have been roped into doing my first ever fantasy baseball league this year. Now I now shit about baseball but have agreed to do it anyway. Its a points league rather than head to head and its rottisserie style.
What I need are suggestions for guys to pick up who may hold great draft value if I can get them in a decent round. I know Braun, Trout and Cabrera are the elite guys but please suggest anybody else you think I need to look out for, and why ideally.
Cheers
Neil

I don't know of any sleepers. I watch the Padres now and then, I have a good friend who is really into baseball. I will ask him who he thinks and get back to you.
The thing with fantasy baseball is they play every day almost, so you have to change your pitchers everyday. Good luck.

This is a yahoo league I am doing. I need 3 SP, 3 RP and 3 P. I also start 1B, 2B, 3B, C, SS, 4 OF and finally 2 Utility slots. We have a bench of 5 plus a DL slot (which I assume is the baseball version of IR in football). You dont swap players round on a daily basis in this league. You have to set your weekly team by Monday evening and then its in place till the following Monday. I have an idea who I will draft in the first coupe of rounds and I have my eyes on some late round sleepers. Its rounds 4-10 I am struggling with as I dont wanna draft somebody too early. Help!!!!!!!!

Scoring takes place on a match by match basis within the weekly period so I need guys who generally start lots of games for their teams so i know they are gonna score me points more often than not

Chase Headley the Padres third baseman had a break out year last year. Hitting 31 home runs I think and close to 300 batting average. He's looking to have another good year. And he might be under the radar.
And he's a switch hitter so he should play all the time.

Carlos Quentin is another Padre who if he stays healthy could be a beast. The Padres are moving the fences in at Petco also. This should help all of their power hitters. www.nbcnews.com/id/50844549#.USJmW_I9WSoI'm doing my homework for ya Neil.

Neil....the thing with baseball is you never know from year to year whos gonna have a good year or break out. With that being said...I would keep a close eye on these guys...could be late round to mid round steals.
Brett Lawrie Jason Kipnis Freddie Freeman Desmond Jennings Shin Soo Choo Asdrubal Cabrera Eric Hosmer Ike Davis Josh Willingham Mark Trumbo Dustin Ackley Michael Brantley Jemile Weeks Lucas Duda Cameron Maybin
I didnt add pitchers in the sleepers list. Just make sure you have at least 2 top notch pitchers. IE Stephen Strasburg,Justin Verlander. Also,do not put too much emphasis on closers, just have 2 solid ones at least. Closers are always losing their jobs.
My strategy is to go after a good starting pitcher in the first few rounds, maybe even 2 of them. Also, look at the depth at each position and draft accordingly.
