Players are grouped by position, and given a Scouts Inc. style rating. I also found an NFL player who earned the same grade as each rated player.
The player on the right is not a comparison in any way. Scouts Inc. gave them the same numerical rating when they were drafted as the rating I gave that player. That's why for example, Gronkowski is "lower" than Brandon Pettigrew. I chose the most recent player to have the same number.
QB:
Geno Smith, WVU: 90. Jake Locker
Tyler Wilson, Arkansas: 86 Andy Dalton
Matt Barkley, USC: 81. Colin Kaepernick
Ryan Nassib, Syracuse, 80. Joe Flacco
E.J. Manuel, FSU. 76, Tim Tebow
RB:
Eddie Lacy, Alabama: 88. Jamaal Charles
Giobanni Brenard,UNC, 80. Felix Jones
Montee Ball, Wisconsin, 78. Chris Henry
Stefan Taylor, Stanford. 75. Demarco Murray
Le'Veon Bell, Michigan State. 75
TE:
Tyler Eiffert, Notre Dame: 91. Aaron Hernandez
Zach Ertz, Stanford: 86. Brandon Pettigrew
Gavin Escobar, SDSU: 82: Rob Gronkowski (ha)
Chris Gragg, Arkansas: 75: Kyle Rudolph
Vance Macdonald, Rice: 75
WR:
Cordarelle Paterson, Tennessee: 96. Justin Blackmon
Tavon Austin, WVU: 94. Torrey Smith
Keenan Allen, Cal: 90. Dez Bryant
DeAndre Hopkins, Clemson: 90
Robert Woods, USC: 88. Demaryius Thomas
T:
Luke Joeckel, Texas A&M: 98. Tony Mandrich is the only 98 EVER
Eric Fisher, Central Michigan, 93. Bryan Bulaga
Lane Johnson, Oklahoma: 92. Tyron Smith
D.J. Fluker, Alabama: 83. Derrick Sherrod (who?)
Melenik Watson, FSU: 83
G:
Johnathon Cooper, UNC: 94. David Decastro
Chance Warmack, Alabama: 93. No one. Ever, (or at least since 1980)
Larry Warford, Kentucky: 86. Vladamir Ducasse (who?)
Justin Pugh, Syracuse: 83. no one
Alvin Bailey, Arkansas: 81. Amini Silotalu.
C:
I'm not going to grade centers. I honestly don't know anything about this year's class. There is one worth the first two rounds named Barrett Jones out of Alabama, but he will likely move to guard in the NFL anyway.
Defense still to come!
