Welp, now I'm caught up in this series. Finally got around to playing Revelations and 3.

I have heard that the first 4 are in the same story line but that AC3, the newest one is not and I can play it out of order if I want to. Is that true? If so I will play that one now.
I got all of them used so I hope I can still play online and unlock all the bonus stuff.

You play as different assassins in the games (you play as Altair in AC1, Ezio in AC2 through AC Revelations, and Ratonhnhaké:ton in AC3) But Desmond Miles is the character in the main world in all AC games, and you definitely won't know what is happening in Desmond's life if you start playing AC3 without playing the others first.

This ^^^ The Desmond story is the AC series. However each Assassin you play as has his own story as well. Even so the Assassin stories all link to Desmond's story as well as each others a little bit! I recommend not playing them all right through however! The game play is pretty much exactly the same in ever game with slight tweaks and you will get INSANELY bored playing from 1 to 5.. Take a good long break in between each game!

Thanks for the advice. I have plenty of other games to still play so taking breaks wont be a problem.
I still havent even prestiged or beaten the story in codbo2 lol.
I hope I beat all the games I have before gta5 comes out. Because that will consume my video game life for Im sure 3 or 4 months at least.
