Wow. I've seen players come close to this before, but for someone to actually reach that plateau...(tips woeful Rockies cap)
To be clear - Miguel Cabrera .330 BA, 44 HR, 139 RBI - He also had OVER 200 hits (205) which ranked 2nd in all of baseball (behind Jeter's 216 hits).
I'm not sure there's ever been a better all around season by a single hitter in my lifetime. Or at the very least since the end of the "steroid era".
I know we're a football community here, but this accomplishment really deserves it's rightful place as one of the greatest. Just amazing.

I was listening to Colin Cowherd's ESPN radio show today, and he brought up a good point. He mentioned that people kept sending him emails about why Cabrera wasn't getting more coverage for the triple crown win and he said that due to the "steroids era", stat related accomplishments in baseball have been diminished. Maybe unrightfully so, but it's a good point. He wasn't insinuating that Cabrera was taking PED's, but just saying that it's "legend" has been diminished due to it.
Plus, on top of that, he made a comment about how the playoffs as a whole were a more intriguing topic than the triple crown as well, which is another reason why it's kind of been put on the back-burner.
