FINAL SCORE
27
10
this is a win i expected, but it was the best game we had probably this year. good win
5 PLAYERS THAT GET MY GAMEBALL
5.RB Cedric Peerman. 48 yard run on a fake punt. this was the game changing play of the game. the offense was struggling to get anything going but faking a punt was just another good call by jay gruden when its all said and done. peerman will be another ace up the sleeve for this team now
4.DT Geno Atkins. 3 tackles and 2 sacks. still think im crazy for saying geno atkins is the best 4-3 DT now? i mean come on, 5 sacks already this year thats almost more than he had last year. he just need 4 more to get over 8 sacks. it was a crime to not put him on the top 100 list last year and now hes gonna make people pay. DTs dont often get sacks, but this guy is the best in the game at DT IMO
3.OLB Vontaze Burfict. 8 tackles, sack, and a pass deflection. after putting him for thomas howard who went out for the season, hes sure stepped in just fine. hes proving people wrong right now including me. im very happy for this guy right now. OLB was a problem for this team, but we might got a future OLB now next year
2.WR A.J Green. 6 catches for 117 yards and a TD. hes showing people that his season last year wasnt a fluke. you would think his production would go down this year but it doesnt, he is only getting even better now. watching this guy play is a treat, and drafting this guy on the team, i feel so blessed right now
1.QB Andy Dalton. 20-31, 244 yards, 2 TD's, 1 INT, 1 rush TD. for the 3rd time in a row, he gets my gameball of the week. hes unforuately had an INT in every game though, but the INT wasnt really his fault. after that though, he never looked back. he did that last week agaisnt the redskins after throwing an INT on his first pass, he didnt look back. dalton is not only good because of his accuracy, but i have no discovered that he has a short memory on the field which is great. well done dalton
5 PLAYERS THAT WERE TERRIBLE
5.CB Terence Newman. he actually was better this week and there werent many bad players this week, but i still need to pick 5. justin blackmon had his best game of the year so far, so that shows newman is still having problems
4.ILB Rey Maualuga. he also did better this week, but im still not convinced. he did better because blaine gabbert did alot of checkdowns so im not still impressed with maualuga
3.DE Robert Geathers. he started this game at DE one more time and was blanked out again. for a guy thats not getting sacks, its not good. dunlap gets alot of playing time too, but i want dunalp to start already. geathers doesnt have it anymore
2.WR Armon Binns. ive been impressed with binns so far this year. hes becoming a nice weapon for this team. but he was nowhere to be found this game since he had no catches. i need to see more consistency on him
1.RB Benjarvus Green-Ellis. dont let the numbers fool you. sure he had 82 yards, but that was on 26 attempts on the ground, so thats not very good. plus he fumbled the football AGAIN. he never fumbles it. after fumbling it last week, he fumbled it in back to back weeks. is it the bengals curse or is green ellis just not that good? and for a second there i though we had our answer at RB after week 1
FINAL GRADES
Offense: B. offense was outstanding again. dalton and green are still on fire. plus the OL played much better as they didnt allow a sack all game. the thing that keeps it from getting an A is because benjarvus green ellis struggled
Defense: B. the defense was great this week, but it also goes to credit for the jaguars having a bad offense. they sacked the QB alot this game, the secondary played better, and the run defense shut downed MJD. however blaine gabbert did alot of checkdowns which wont help your team
Special Teams: A. good punting, 2 for 2 on FGs, and the 48 yard run on a fake punt. enough said
Coaching: A. jay gruden was creative on offense again. mike zimmer had a much better gameplan against the checkdowns. marvin lewis deciding to go for a fake punt was good too
FINAL GRADE: B. overall it was a great game. but it was against an easy team, so its not gonna get a complete good grade
FINAL THOUGHTS
im starting to get alot more confidence in this team. i think we go 8-8 now. but if the want to get better, they will need to play the real teams and they wont do that for a while
next up is the dolphins, whom they almost beat the cardinals and ryan tannehill threw for over 400 yards on the great cardinals defense. the bengals play well against rookie QBs though. i expect a win next week
