Welcome everyone to this weeks bengals weekly preview between the bengals and browns
GAME INFO
the bengals will be playing the browns in cincinnati on september 16th at 1 PM ET on CBS. the game is a sellout, so everyone in cincinnati and ohio will get to see the game. check this link if you want to see if this game is in your area the506.com/nflmaps/2012/wk2.html . the bengals will be wearing there black home jerseys this game
RUNDOWN
this game isnt gonna get alot of attention this week because the browns are not good right now and the bengals are could soon fall with them. this has been one of the biggest rivals though besides the steelers. the battle of ohio has been a big game every year for both teams. if you manage to sweep your opponent that year, you win the battle of ohio. if its a split, the team who finishes with the better record wins the battle of ohio. the bengals won the battle of ohio last year, and i expect them to do the same again this year.
NOTES
*WR brandon tate started week 1 against the ravens as the #2 WR but only had 1 catch for 3 yards. after that, he is now no longer the #2 WR anymore as WR armon binns has moved up as the new guy who had 4 catches for 28 yards last week. WR andrew hawkins had an impressive 8 catches for 86 yards last week and has already nailed down the #3 job. tate is now the #4.
*OLB thomas howard tore his ACL this week in practice and is now out for the season. this is a huge blow to the bengals defense as he started the season as a backup last year but started all 16 games inplace for keith rivers who went out for the season before it even started. howard also lead the team in tackles last year as well. theres no word on whos gonna start in his place right now, but its likely gonna be dan stuka whom started 3 games last year inplace for rey maualuga at some point. if he doesnt start, it could also be vincent rey, though hes never started a game before. the bengals resigned roddrick muckleroy today after finding out about howard's injury
HISTORY
the bengals currently are on a 3 game winning streak on the browns. the bengals are 41-36 all time against the browns. last time both of these played each other was 2011 where the bengals won in cincinnati 23-20. last time both teams played in cleveland, the bengals also won 27-17 in 2011. last time the browns beat the bengals in cleveland was in 2010 where they won 23-20. last time the browns beat the bengals in cincinnati was 2008 where they won 20-12. last 5 games in cincinnati between these 2 teams it was only decided by one digit
THE 5 KEYS TO VICTORY
5.Penetrate the interior OL. the browns OL is a mess right now IMO, but the bengals pass rush was a disappointment this week. i dont expect much out of the DE's like michael johnson and robert geathers, so im hoping more from like last week from geno atkins and more pressure from domata peko. get through that OL and they can stop the run easy
4.Better play on the secondary. the DB's were completely manhandled against the ravens. they cant let that happen against brandon weeden who threw 4 picks against the eagles. leon hall will be targeted alot this game i bet, since he still needs some work. he will need to cover mohamed massaquoi well.
3.OL needs to jell together some more. i though the new guys in the interior OL looked good last week, but the stats say they didnt against haloti ngata who had 2 sacks. im looking alot out of the interior OL this week, especially veteran jeff faine this week, who still needs some work. can he stop ahtyba rubin this game, and what about dqwell jackson
2.Get jermaine gresham more involved. gresham only had 3 catches for 30 yards against the ravens and jay gruden didnt have him involved alot that game. he did wrong a run route though that did cause dalton to throw a pick 6. hes a good matchup problem for defenses if only he had the ball more often. only problem he could have is t.j ward who knows how to hurt people
1.Throw it too A.J. there is no reason why this guy cannot have a breakout game. if your a fantasy owner, i would definitely start this guy easy this week. joe haden will not play this week so he will likely go against sheldon brown this game, which is a great matchup for a.j green. as long as dalton can get the ball to him, hes gonna be very good this game i believe. if he gets the ball often, the bengals will win easy
PREDICTION
im very concerned about the bengals team this year right now after being smacked by the ravens. im dont like what i see out of this offense and i think they struggle again on offense. thing is, they could score 13 points again like last week and i still think they can win. browns could make it close like they always do in the past, but they are awful this year right now. will be a slugfest i think this game, but bengals will win by double digits

will review this game on monday night probably. enjoy the game whomever watches it
