Blount return was expected for weeks. It doesn't change the draft approach, but does provide security if there are no fits at RB's when the Pats are on the clock.
Realistically the Pats running game would be fine with Lewis, Blount, and White, if everyone(including the oline) stays healthy. That didn't happen last year and what we ended up with was White, Jackson, and Bolden and two starters left on the oline in the postseason. It wasn't ideal, but it still got them to the conference championship game. I don't think you can rely on Lewis to stay healthy with his small size and Blount too with his physical style. White is a pass blocking receiver, who is a decent RB with strong oline play and a lead blocker.
They still really need a true short yardage back. Develin could probably be that guy, but Blount certainly isn't. His size and physicality often leads people to believe he is a good short yardage back, when he is one of the worst short yardage backs in the league.

Blount singed a one year deal worth 1 million, with an additional 1 million that can be earned through incentives. Exactly what I expected.

Pats making more moves involving DT's. Released Chris Jones and Ishmaa'ily Kitchen.
Also brought back Tyler Gaffney. Good chance Jones is back as well. They saved 1.68 million by releasing him and could probably sign him back a veteran minimum rate, which wouldn't effect the top 51, therefore saving 1.68 million in overall cap.
I don't see Easily, Jones, and Kitchen releases effecting their draft plans. I am not saying they won't draft a DT, but it still really isn't a need. They have a solid 3 man rotation with Brown, Branch, and Knighton.
