In what league? Yeah, Demarcus and Von must be crapping their pants about now.

In what league? Yeah, Demarcus and Von must be crapping their pants about now. I think the Raiders still have work to do before they become real contenders in the league, but they are starting to put together a pretty good group. Yeah we have Von and Ware (though Ware is starting to get older.. hopefully Ray keeps improving as Ware starts to decline) but they have Mack, who could easily be as good as Von in a couple years and they just paired him with Irvin, who isn't too bad himself. They have a young, talented QB, some young talented offensive weapons (Murray and Cooper) and a few other pretty solid players around them. They are building up their O-Line now, as well, which will help Carr and Murray get even better.
On the other hand, we lost our best interior lineman and our best interior linebacker. We have no QB, a decimated O-Line and no TE. Anderson has shown flashes of brilliance but unless he has an O-Line and a QB, he will be useless. I still like our receiving corps at the moment, and we have one of the best edge rush groups, and secondary groups in the entire NFL, but Oakland could very well contend for the AFC West title this year (as could KC). We have a lot of work to do to get our team ready to defend our title.

In a few years mack might be ad good? He already is as good! That division is gonna be a dog fight, especially with denver not having a QB. If Derek Carr and Amari Cooper take another step forward next season.. yikes.. Right now I would take Oakland offense over Denvers and their defense isn't far behind anymore... All I know is that San Diego is that Rivers has his work cut out for him this up coming season. As of now the only thing I am certain of is that San Diego is the bottom feeder next year in that division.

All I know is that San Diego is that Rivers has his work cut out for him this up coming season. As of now the only thing I am certain of is that San Diego is the bottom feeder next year in that division. He's close to as good as Miller, but he's not quite there yet. Maybe it's just because of who Miller has around him (great coverage making the QB hold the ball for an extra half second and other great pass rushers along the line), but Miller is definitely the better of the two right now. With the upgrades Oakland is making, Mack may make the jump to the best in the league at his position, but right now that's Miller hands down.
I agree about the offense. Without an O-Line or QB or TE, we have a lot of work to do to become mediocre. Our defense was streets ahead of Oakland's, but the couple big losses we took in FA, and a few big additions for them definitely narrows the gap. But they still have to find chemistry and play as a team. Our defense is still much better than Oakland's until they prove otherwise on the field come September.
But I am by no means saying they won't be better than us this year. I am worried for this season as a Broncos fan, but we broke the bank over the last 5 years to put ourselves in a position to get a ring or two. We got one, and the next few years will likely be a bit of an aftershock of spending all that money on big free agents. But at least when we broke the bank a couple years ago to bring in Ware, Ward, Talib and Sanders, it wasn't a waste. As much as I don't like Ward and Talib, all four of those players wanted to win and put everything they have out there when they play. Whatever happens over the next few years, we built a team to win now and we won. But we are still left with a lot of strong players and should by no means be counted out if we can fill the few big holes we currently have.

Agree Mack is already there - do NOT agree the rest of the defense is close, even with the loss of Trevathan, which is indeed a big one. Edge rushers and secondary is less easy to recover from or replace, IMO. After the interior, we need to address a QB (and not in the draft obviously), TE (which is supposedly plentiful right now ( )), and I'd like to see a better tackle than Schofield. IDK what the deal/contract is, but he's terrible. Oh, they need to match Miami's offer for CJ Anderson. OR do they? We should pick up Kalos Dansby, give him a 1 year deal, he's ancient, but was very effective last year. I think Travis Benjamin will be the instant #1 for Rivers, great acquisition. Bottom line, I'd agree that the Broncos are measurably downgraded, more parity to the AFCW. The division is up for grabs - for now. We are not starting from scratch, especially considering how bad Peyton was last year.

Trevathan Hurts, even more than Trevathan I believe Malik Jackson hurts. If you look at the two defenses side by side right now, the only difference in my eyes, is the Broncos secondary is better. I think the Raiders front 7 is right on par with Denver now. Khalil Mack = Von Miller Bruce Irvin = Demarcus Ware Malcolm Smith > Brandon Marshall Dan Williams > Derek Wolfe or Sly Williams. They aren't nearly as far behind as you think. Still not as good because Denver's secondary outclasses Oakland's but Sean Smith and David Amerson aren't push overs, and DJ Hayden showed some improvement last year. Had they signed Eric Weddle they would have been a defense to fear IMO. Right now they are good, but still have a few gaping holes to fill, if they draft as smart as they have the past few years then they are only gonna get better. KC, DEN, and OAK will fight it out

Not quite there? Mack 77 tackles, 15.5 sacks 2ff Miller 35 tackles 11 sacks 4ff Mack is as good as Miller.

Four sacks is nothing to write home about, is it? Our front 4 was frighteningly fast last year. Everybody ate. Why am I not seeing Marshall on the Broncos roster?!? Oh, never even heard of Dan Williams. Derek Wolfe had 5.5 sacks in 12 games. So uh... Even Sly Williams got 3 sacks. Dan Williams, 1 is career best. Anyway, it's all conjecture now til the draft.
