Anybody else upgrade? I already like it a bunch more than Windows 8, which basically seemed like the entire UI was designed purely for tablets.
Windows 10 feels pretty similar to Windows 7, except with improvements. Which is a good thing.

That's very encouraging, cuz I'm still on Win 7, and it's fine by me. This laptop will be 7 6 (?) yrs old in Oct, so I feel like it's living on borrowed time. Is that crazy? I do have a Seagate external hard drive in prep for the inevitable.

I've never acquired Windows 8 or 8.1, but so far it looks good. Trying to get accostumed to Windows Edge.

I do have a Seagate external hard drive in prep for the inevitable. The average laptop lifespan is probably around 4-5 years I would say. That's enough time for the hardware to become dated. The battery life takes even less time than that to start deteriorating. My battery already isn't what it used to be and my laptop is only two(ish) years old. With that being said, laptops can last longer than 4-5 years if you take good care of them. You also have an external hard drive which is good, so I wouldn't worry too much.

I don't think it will stop me from using Google Chrome though Chrome is still my favorite over Edge, but Edge's design looks better. It's possible that I might go back to Chrome soon.

It probably helps never using the battery. Meaning I always always have the power pack plugged in. Like I never ever take it to Starbucks or the beach or park to do my business. Does that help battery life? It's a 17.3" so it's not all that portable, but works in an emergency. I'll probably go smaller next, but get a 24" separate display monitor for its 99% home use, down from the 95% it used to be, grateful for that. Nah, I don't worry. And seems its resources are still more than adequate. I'll ride it as long as I can.

Like rechargeable batteries, you can only recharge so many times? IDK if laptop batteries work the same. Thing is, TBH, IDK how you recharge a laptop battery. Is it constantly recharging just being plugged in? There is no separate 'recharger' like a phone.
