cityofchampslol so Brady maybe or maybe not having any knowledge about footballs being deflated somehow compares to PED use in baseball. And less not forget everyone expected this decision so do not even bother getting excited. This will be won in court, just like every other case with no evidence. And there is no evidence that any cell phone was destroyed. That report is no different than the Mortenson report that claimed 10 balls were at least 2.5 PSI less than the required PSI, although I doubt you even remember that report that started this entire thing. Somehow possibly having knowledge of an equipment violation that is listed as a 25,000 dollar fine is worse than potentially killing someone while driving under the influence. 1. I wasn't talking about comparing what they did. I was comparing how A-Rod dug himself into a grave vehemently denying it and getting caught, which in fact forced him to admit what he did to what Tom Brady is doing now, which in fact destroyed his legacy and will keep him out of the Baseball Hall of Fame. 2. Before the decision, everyone was expecting it to be reduced in a settlement. There was that leadup. The evidence is circumstantial and the report is flimsy, but Tom Brady's actions throughout the investigation have not painted the picture of an innocent man. Quite the opposite in fact. 3. There is evidence to the cell phone being destroyed. Tom Brady HIMSELF admitted to that fact himself and tried to cover it up by testifying that he habitually destroys his cell phones when he purchases a new one (which was purchased on May 6th, or close enough to that date to where it looked suspicious). Also, this has gone FAR further than simply deflating footballs. As I said, this has gone from failing to cooperate with an investigation, to intentionally/willfully obstructing one. THAT is why Goodell upheld the suspension. 4. Somehow, I knew you would make this about the Steelers. I absolutely knew it. Keep this discussion on topic please. How the NFL punishes different actions has nothing to do with this discussion. That is a separate issue and even so, you cannot blame Bell for that or Steeler fans for that. That is an issue to direct towards the NFL and Roger Goodell. I have said since day one this would wind up in court. So if "everyone" was expected a settlement that didnt include me and certainly didnt include any boston Beat writer. Define destroying a cell phone. Does that mean shredding the thing into pieces, smashing it, dropping it in water, or simply erasing its contents? The report was first broke by Stephen A Smith who has a history of fabricating things to fit ESPN's agenda. Goodell has no room to uphold a suspension based on an alleged obstruction of an investigation after Ray Rice. lol I compared DUI, it had nothing to do with the Steelers(other than the fact that they have players who have DUI's). Players arrested for DUI in the past year: Bernard Pierce, Victor Hampton, Andrew Jackson, Tim Jennings, Jabari Price, Da'Rick Rogers, Alan Branch, Le'Veon Bell, and Josh Gordon. One of those nine players is a member of the Steelers. I would rather compare this to previous situations, but there has never been an equipment violation blown up into a major scandal before.

I predicted the Pats would win the superbowl after starting 2-2. Always happens under Belichick.
So we have two facts that guarantee a 19-0 season and my prediction which is 1-0. Therefore there is a 100 percent chance of a perfect season.

cityofchampsYou want Brady and the Pats to fail so bad its hilarious. A few questions for you: 1: Why is what Roger is doing in this situation ok? 2: Is Stephen A Smith a credible report? 3: Is sexual assualt/DUI(no this is not about the Steelers...) a bigger integrity issue than more probably than not knowing about an equipment issue. 4: How do you define the destruction of a cell phone? 5: Would you rather Brady play week one, rather than risk the potential of losing to Jimmy Garappolo vs losing to Brady which is much more justifiable.

I know this doesnt fit your agenda... profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/07/28/brady-offered-to-help-nfl-gather-missing-text-messages/"Although the text messages couldn’t be retrieved directly from Brady’s phone, his agents provided all of the phone numbers with which Brady exchanged text messages. His agents also said that the league could attempt to get the actual text messages from the phones of the people with whom Brady communicated, but the league refused to attempt to try, claiming that it would be too hard to track down the various people and to persuade them to cooperate."

Are roads actually roads, or do they only represent roads?

I never said it was okay. But that has nothing to do with what Brady is doing to himself. 2. It isn't just Stephen A. Smith. This was the NFL's finding, and Tom Brady ADMITTING TO DESTROYING THE PHONE HIMSELF. That is the simple fact regardless of who it first came from. Stephen A Smith's report was ONLY about the NFL upholding the 4 game suspension over the destroyed cell phone. It isn't like he claimed Brady destroyed the phone, then the NFL used that as evidence to uphold the suspension. The NFL found the information first and spelled it out in an official letter. If you believe otherwise, then you are TRULY delusional. 3. Yes, that is about the Steelers and you know it. Shut up. The integrity issue with Brady (again) is not about the footballs anymore. It is about his role in the investigation with failing to cooperate/intentionally obstructing an investigation. You want me to say dui/sexual assault is worse? Sure it is worse. But that isn't the effing issue here. Stop trying to deflect this issue onto something else. Dui/sexual assault may be worse as far as being a human being goes, but as far as integrity for this particular situation goes? Brady undermining the authority of the NFL and deliberately withholding information and obstructing an investigation into the integrity of his actions is worse from a work-related standpoint. This makes the NFL look worse than sexual assault/dui because sexual assault and dui's aren't work-related issues. Those are civil issues. That is why they are making this a big deal, regardless of whether you agree with it or not. The NFL isn't responsible for it's employee's actions in their personal lives. 4. Destroying a phone is doing anything that makes the phone/its contents unusable or non-accessible permanently. 5. Honestly, I don't care. If we lose to Jimmy Garroppolo, so be it, but I HIGHLY doubt that will be the case. The Steelers will be better prepared than the Patriots regardless.

Tom Brady did that knowing it would take the NFL that much longer to come up with a decision. They provided the spreadsheet AFTER the hearing and not during the investigation. Taken DIRECTLY from the article you yourself provided. Specifically, it can be found at footnote 11 on page 12: “ After the hearing and after the submission of post-hearing briefs, Mr. Brady’s certified agents offered to provide a spreadsheet that would identify all of the individuals with whom Mr. Brady had exchanged text messages during [the relevant time] period; the agents suggested that the League could contact those individuals and request production of any relevant text messages that they retained. Aside from the fact that, under Article 46, Section 2(f) of the CBA, such information could and should have been provided long before the hearing, the approach suggested in the agents’ letter — which would require tracking down numerous individuals and seeking consent from each to retrieve from their cellphones detailed information about their text message communications during the relevant period — is simply not practical.” If Tom Brady was willing to do that, why didn't he do it during the investigation?
