Alright, this is my rough draft copy of what I'm planning on doing for this year's NFL Pick'em game. My final copy will be brought up in August at some point.
For those that may or may not be aware of the situation, a month ago I announced that I would be bringing back the NFL Pick'em game that we use to do on both NFL.com and here. This was not done last year since I wasn't around, and unfortunately I didn't get as much feedback a month ago as I hoped. However this plan is not set in stone right now and I'm posting it now to get suggestions and find out what people like and don't like about this. Here's the whole thing.
How to play
1.The objective is simple. Pick who wins each game each week. Picks must be entered at weeklypickem.fantasy.nfl.com. Signups have not been opened up yet, so until they do that, I cannot create a league. Once leagues are opened, I will tag everyone that is a member of this site.
2.I will still be using my old scoring system back from 2011 and 2012. Get a game right, you get a point. Get a game wrong, you lose a point. Any picks that are not entered will count the same way as getting a pick wrong. Anybody that forgets to make more than half of there picks in one week will automatically just get a -3 for points on the week.
3.The point of entering picks via NFL.com is only used as the purpose to keep track of picks better. NFL.com does not use my scoring method, so therefore my scoring system will be the one that counts, not NFL.com's.
4.Latecomers are allowed to enter during the season, but you must notify me of it first or I will not score your picks.
5.Anybody that misses 3 weeks in a row will automatically get kicked out. I will make exceptions.
The Benefits to this new plan
1.NFL.com will do the work for me. All I have to do is look at your picks for the week, and easily tally up your score by hand.
2.No more keeping track of who posted picks late or not, and less chances of errors.
3.Nobody can see your picks until after the results of each game you picked are out.
4.I won't require as much help, if any at all.
5.I don't have to update stuff if someone changes a pick.
Tiebreakers
The only tiebreaker that I will use is when someone forgets to post picks, or if they were a latecomer. There's no point to preseason anymore and once playoff time comes around, its not like there's a big need for tiebreakers. Speaking of playoffs.....
Playoffs
The main reason I went with my old scoring method over NFL.com's was because when playoff time comes around, its basically a final jeopardy. The amount of points you have at the end of the year is your budget and you can bet as many points as you want for any of the playoff games, just as long as you don't go beyond your budget. You must bet at least one point for every game. After the superbowl is over, the winner is decided.

I wrote this up today, so not everything is written in stone yet. There's probably a lot of stuff I forget to mention too, so please speak.
