I've watched Hockey games before in person but not NHL ones. Miami Oxford Ohio college team is very good and there games always get sold out, so I usually watch them since I'm only 10 minutes away from the campus. The Columbus Blue Jackets suck though so its hard for me to get interest in that. The closest NBA team to me is Indiana Pacers, but they aren't ever on TV where I'm at so that's why I don't care.

Dude, you can root for teams outside your state. Also not having a a favorite team doesn't mean you have to neglect the entire sport.
