I figured I would start this for this year's picks, since the thread for last year seems to be getting a decent bit of traffic. 1. Jameis Winston, Buccaneers - Cam Newton 5. Brandon Scherff, Redskins - Branden Albert 15. Melvin Gordon, Chargers - Arian Foster 17. Arik Armstead, 49ers - Darnell Dockett 19. Cameron Erving, Browns - Orlando Franklin I disagree with these 5 Winston is much closer to Rothlisberger in play style than he is Cam. Cam is much more of a run based QB, and not as good of a pure passer as Winston. Winston is like Rothlisberger. Mobile enough to make people miss and run when he needs, big strong arm, throws a lot of picks but also makes a lot of huge plays, gets out of situations he shouldn't. Only question is will he mature like Ben, and learn to tone down the picks. Don't get the Scherff to Albert comparison at all.. Scherff is a strong run blocker who is suited to guard, while Albert is an elite pass blocker suited to LT.. I see Scherff compare a lot closer to guys like Reiff and Pugh then to Albert. Arian Fosters is a great all around back, he can do everything and he isn't fast at all. Gordon is explosive unlike foster, but he isn't a great receiver or blocker. Bad comparison IMO. Closer compairs to Justin Forsett in my eyes. Arik Armstead doesn't remind me of Dockett at all. IMO more like Geno Atkins. I have see a few different comparisons to Clais Campbell as well. Erving and Franklin just don't fit in my brain. Mostly becase Erving is more suited to center than guard. Reminds me a little bit of Mike Pouncey.

Plus, don't forget the rape accusations... Really? That's all you got to say. It was mostly just a joke.. But at the same time, being accused of rape is pretty serious... Especially when you look at the events surrounding the accusations. I don't want to start a debate about this here though, as it's not on topic at all. Just take it as a joke.

No need for a debate that subject has been talked about enough already.

Both players have had character concerns and legal troubles early in their career. Is that better? Can you argue that this is not true? But I would agree with Jindred (shocking, right?) that the Winston/Big Ben comparison seems legitimate, considering their playing style. Much more than the comparison to Cam.

Maybe a young Ben, I was thinking he was closer to Tannehill. Who is deceptively athletic, has a big arm and tools to work with. Not sure about his turnover risk/reward factor, I assume he's in the middle ground of the Nfl there.

On my list that got deleted I had Winston likened to Favre.

Not sure about his turnover risk/reward factor, I assume he's in the middle ground of the Nfl there. I wouldn't go Tannehill either. Tannehill doesn't have the deepball skills like Winston does, and Tannehill is a LOT more athletic than Winston, he played WR the majority of his college years. He is actually at his best when Philbin allows him to run, but Philbin being the idiot he is doesn't allow him to do so. Again I don't see the comparison. I like Juggs comparison of Favre. However I really think Ben is his closest match in the NFL right now, especially young Ben. Also comparison doesn't necessarily mean same level of skill or career production just that their play style is similar. Ben has the closest style to him in the league right now IMO.
