Mesko was beat out by Ryan Allen fair and square. The unknown is how the guy went from being arguably a top 5 punter to one of the worst punters in the league. But yeah that class was incredible. You dont find players like Gronk or Hernandez very often, much less in the same class. Spikes might be the best run stopping LB in the league, of course his coverage skills might be the worst in the league. I don't understand how this guy doesn't have a job. He was amazing, got cut, got signed by Pittsburgh, and then was cut again, and then was signed by cincy was cut again, all within a year. How does one become bad at punting? I don't understand this. He doesn't even have a CFL job or something. How?

According to Bleacher Report, Mesko beat out Allen in camp, but was cut as a cap casualty. But then... why did he get cut by the other two teams?

At first I thought it was going to be the best overall Draft Classes..like year to year for the entire NFL....I might actually do that one of these days.. I thought about that, but it's just way too subjective of a call to make. There are a few that stand out (1983, 2001, 2010), but past that it's really hard to nail down one better than another. 2011 Was easily the best of the last 5 years. Cam Newton Von Miller Marcell Dareus A.J. Green Patrick Peterson Julio Jones Tyron Smith J.J. Watt Nick Fairley Robert Quinn Mike Pouncey Ryan Kerrigan Nate Solder Prince Amukamara Anthony Costanzo Cameron Jordan James Carpenter Jimmy Smith Mark Ingram Muhammad Wilkerson Cam Heyward Andy Dalton Colin Kaepernick Jabaal Sheard Kyle Rudolph Rahim Moore Orlando Franklin Stefen Wisniewski Stephen Paea Shane Vereen Torrey Smith Marcus Gilbert Randall Cobb Justin Houston DeMarco Murray Stevan Ridley Jurrell Casey Chris Culliver Clint Boling Jordan Cameron Cortez Allen Julius Thomas Anthony Sherman Karl Klug Denarius Moore Ahmad Black Richard Sherman Pernell McPhee Byron Maxwell Charles Clay Jason Kelce Virgil Green Bruce Miller Plus Undrafted Dan Bailey Chris Harris Larry Donnell Mark Herzlich Henry Hynoski Doug Baldwin

Wow Dorsey must have made me overlook it. Sorry for shorting the Chiefs - I'm afraid it's becoming a trend. Don't worry about it. Everyone does.

Ryan Allen had a great camp, great preseason, and has worked out really well for us and considering the economics were cheaper it made perfect sense to cut him. Now he was pretty bad in Pittsburgh and not very good with the Bengals either. Very strange how one can go from being such a great punter to such a bad one, probably those New England special teams balls.
