I hate to disturb the peace in here...But theres 2 controversial subjects going on right now. I would like everyones input or opinion about them. Im gonna state my thoughts on both, and afterwards Iam going to be as objective as I can be about responding to anyone. I urge everyone to do the same. Hoepfully we can have a decent discussion. ISIS - At first thought, after seeing these assholes doing what they are doing in the name of religion...My inclination is to bomb the allah out of them and send them to their 72 virgins. Beheading Christians,if you have your head in the sand. Its like a daily occurrence these days. Only ones not taking the horseshit is egypt and syria. We look like a bunch of fools here in the US. Obama brings up the crusades and compares that, with that. Then off to the golf course. Yet...hes a christian. Yeah right. But then I said to myself...self....If we bomb them off the map...then thats pretty much gonna start World war 3. and Self is against war. Stuck like chuck.50 Shades Of Grey - So Russell Wilson went to the movie. chicago.suntimes.com/nfl/7/72/642267/russell-wilson-fifty-shades-of-greySome of those tweets are not christian like and pride is not what the lord seems to like. While I dont want, need or desire to see the movie,I do agree with his right to go see it....Christian or not. Like he said...It does not make him less faithful. But at the same time....movies like this do not glorify God. Iam guilty of this myself. I like movies so much, that I do tend to overlook what doesnt fit. We are all sinners, and those sins have been paid for. But I feel the same as Russell does. Watching a movie like that does not affect my faith. Will never affect it. But the one issue I do have with the movie is that I feel like its sending the wrong message to young adults and women. Esp women who are in abusive relationships. Stuck like Chuck.VaccinationsNet Neutrality

Don't have many thoughts on the whole ISIS thing outside of the fact that the media needs to STOP broadcasting this shit right now. The media is the biggest terrorist in the world, they promote, and spread fear doing exactly what ISIS fucking wants them to. Just stop spreading it to the general public, we don't need to watch and hear about this ever single day. Let the government deal with it, and stop publicising it, its doing no good for anybody but ISIS.
As far as the 50 shades of grey thing, people need to get the sticks firmly removed from their asses. Its a movie about kinky sex... Dear lord it must be the worst thing to happen to our world since the plague!!! Fuck off people.. (not directed at you Jeff) Its totally ok for people to go see movies with immense blood, gore and violence but a movie about sex is taboo? What the fuck kind of world do we live in? Like I am not condemning violent movies as I enjoy them too and I think its just part of the world we live in, but I can't for the life of me understand how people can sit back and blame Wilson for watching this movie, yet if he went to see Fury, or 300 nobody would bat an eyelash. We criminalize sex, and glorify violence and terror. Stupid.... Even if the movie is about an abusive relationship, whats the problem? People should know the difference between fiction and real life. Again does going to see the Texas Chainsaw Massacre promote murdering people horribly? Does watching Fury promote war? Or are they just movies that we watch for entertainment?

I feel this way too. Its just a movie. Its entertainment. And they have a lot worse movies than this, that promote things much worse, and noone says anything.
If you are of strong faith...it shouldnt bother you at all.
But Jin...you know as well as I do that people who are stupid, takes movies literally.
We have seen it with kids shooting up schools. I just hope we dont have a new flood of sociopaths, child molesters and sex offenders all of a sudden because of this movie.

I agree with you on this also....Media is bad. ISIS is bad. 2 bads = terrible bad.
But something needs to be done about it.

I just hope we dont have a new flood of sociopaths, child molesters and sex offenders all of a sudden because of this movie. Its not really people who are stupid, cause even stupid people get the difference between reality and fiction. Its people who aren't quite right in the head. Stupid people don't go around shooting up schools cause they saw a gun in a movie, they do it because there is something seriously wrong going on inside their brains. Same as people who abuse, they don't do it because they saw it in a movie they do it because there is something they are lacking that they choose to fill by abusing others. By that standard we shouldn't show any movies with any sort of violence ever, in case one crazy person happens to watch it and it happens to give them an idea. If a movie causes a flood of sociopaths, child molesters and sex offenders, that is a bigger problem with our society as a whole than with a movie. If a movie like the Human Centipede is allowed to exist, and that hasn't caused a whole generation of psycho pathic murders I think we will be fine with one movie about an overbearing boyfriend, and some kinky sex.

But the one issue I do have with the movie is that I feel like its sending the wrong message to young adults and women. Esp women who are in abusive relationships. Stuck like Chuck.I am very annoyed with everything dealing with ISIS. I am also annoyed with Boko Haram, which is more or less ignored by the majority of people despite the fact that they are as extreme as ISIS. In January they attacked a Nigerian town and killed many people. Some estimates claimed nearly 2000 deaths while others claimed around 150. Either way, too many people were killed because of stupid, outdated religious beliefs that forbid western education (that is literally what Boko Haram means). I am not sure what more people want from the US Government though. No one wants boots on the ground, and US is currently doing 80% of the bombings of ISIS facilities, so they are doing more than most places. People are praising the actions of places like Jordan for how they are dealing with the terrorists, but I'd like someone two supports their methods to explain in detail what they are doing that we should do better. Their commander in chief approved the execution of war prisoners and took some pictures dressed up in military garb, but really what is he doing that makes Obama look weaker? This is a perfect example of how Obama can never win. He is constantly accused of acting too much like a Muslim dictator, and all of a sudden now he is being criticized for not acting enough like an actual Muslim dictator. People need to start ignoring the name or color or party of the person in power and just decide, based on his actions, whether or not they like what is being done. I am also curious if your reaction would change if it was atheists, Muslims or Satanists being beheaded, rather than Christians. I personally don't give a shit that "Christians" are being beheaded... I am appalled that innocent humans, in general, are being beheaded, regardless of their faith. The comparison to the crusades isn't that bad. It's a stupid fight fueled by outdated religious beliefs and people willing to go way too far based on words written in an ancient book of fiction. Obama just said Christians shouldn't feel too high and mighty towards Muslims because many atrocities have been done in the name of the Christian God as well. As for 50 Shades. It's a movie. There are many movies that go against Christian values, and there are many movies that show how skewed Christian values can be sometimes. I completely agree with Jin that it's ridiculous how taboo sexuality is, while violence is celebrated regularly. I'd rather my children watch a movie with sex and nudity than something that glorifies extreme violence. But really, as long as parents are open with their children, and are I willing to explain what they are watching, then I don't see any problem. Good lessons can be learned from watching bad things happen, if there is a level of understanding as to why it's bad and what can be learned.

My bad Saska...I just said "Christians" because thats what our media's headlines always are. I should not have said that and should have said innocent people. That WAS my intent.
It does not matter who you are or what you believe in......the killing of people like that is WRONG...the 21 is basically genocide and there are international laws against it.

Watching a movie like that does not affect my faith. Will never affect it. Maybe not, but watching a movie like that, is sinful because as sinful, lustful creatures, there is no way we can watch that and be unaffected. It's like saying looking at crud on the internet is okay because it doesn't affect your faith. Well, no it may not, okay, but that doesn't make it not sinful. Watching people on screen do the things they (I assume) they do in that movie is just wrong as far as our faith goes. As far as the self-righteous people sending hateful tweets to Wilson, they need to take a look in the mirror.
