Pats have no shot in Denver. They will be checking PSI Some facts: 1. Peyton has never won a postseason game under 40 degrees. 2. Pats have never lost a playoff game that I have attended. 3. The winner of the first divisional playoff game has gone on to win the superbowl 3 consecutive years. 4. Tom Brady has faced the number 1 ranked defense 3 times in the postseason in his career, won the superbowl all 3 years. 5. Pats have won the superbowl every year they drafted a DT in the first round under Belichick. 6. Pats advance to the superbowl every year in which they are stripped of a first round draft pick. 7. Every time the Pats have played a team with a more than 10 game winning streak going into the postseason, they have won the game and won the superbowl.

None of these facts count when the PSI is in the legal limits!!

None of these facts count when the PSI is in the legal limits!! 8. Brady has won every super bowl after PSI allegations. They didn't check PSI after Colts game last year. Was still under investigation.

Pats still have an open roster spot. It is basically a guaranteed practice squad promotion, since any outside signing would have happened earlier in the week.
Not sure who will be promoted, but the most likely candidates seem to be Iosefa, Barker, or Vereen.
Whoever is promoted isn't going to play much anyways. Iosefa could be a useful legit FB in short yardage situations, but I doubt we run the ball more than 15 times anyways. Barker could add depth at guard if Jackson isn't ready yet, and Vereen could help on special teams allowing Freeny to play less on special teams and more on defense.
Could always opt for an actual additional RB and go with Monte Ball, but my guess is the Pats are pretty happy with their current RB's, considering they are unlikely to run the ball much anyways.

Pats mostly man/press looks against KC and I would expect to see the same against Denver. It throws off the receiver/QB timing, makes it hard to complete the short routes, and brings the CB's up closer which helps the run defense.
It is pretty clear Peyton is uncomfortable with down the field passing. I would expect to see mostly single high safety looks with Harmon. Should use mostly 3 safety packages, play Chung and Mccourty either take slot or the short middle routes.
Against Pittsburgh Manning only attempted 14 passes over 5 yards and only two of those were against man coverage(both were incomplete).
Some crazy numbers for Patrick Chung against the TE's this entire season: 10 catches, 97 yards, on 27 attempts. Those are crazy numbers for a guy who spent the majority of games covering TE's. Locking him up last year to a 3 year deal was probably one of the smarter moves Belichick has made. He has easily been one of the best SS's in the league, and at barely over 2 million a year.
I don't expect a lot of blitzing this week. We will probably see some 4 man rushes that involve the DE's dropping into coverage and Collins/Hightower rushing inside, so it will look like a blitz but it really isn't. More important to play guys in underneath coverage and force the deep passing. Our pass rush has been one of the best in the league this season and has consistently been able to generate pressure with 4 man rushes.

Pats promoted LB Kevin Snyder. Sounds like he will end up being inactive anyways.
