I am interested as to what people thoughts are on Ryan Tannehill. I do a lot of reading on another forum called Thephins.com(I don't post there as I don't really like the locals.) and there are fans there who are completely ready to give up on Tannehill, and others who don't understand why Tannehill is even on the team anymore, and want him cut or traded.
I am honestly tired of this opinion because I think Tannehill is a good but not great QB who has ability to be a top 10 QB if utilized properly and surrounded with the right cast. I like his skill set, and I don't think QBs better than him come around very often.
So I want peoples honest opinions on Tannehill, do you think Miami needs to try and find an upgrade or do you think Tannehill would be enough to get us to the playoffs/superbowl?
P.S. That Phins forum is depressing as shit..

That Phins forum is depressing as shit.. He's Alex Smith with upside IMO. Put the defense and running game there, and he's capable of 4 good games to win a Super Bowl. The downside to a Tannehill or Smith or Similiar QB, is they're pretty good, but not great. They're not going to carry a team week in and week out. But there are so few QBs like that out there, it's almost impossible to upgrade the spot without finding a gem like Wilson or Brady.

Good enough to win a SB with. Which is all you can really ask for out of your QB.

I've always kinda liked him. Him and Andy Dalton kinda remind me of each other. But I could see him put together a Joe Flacco type postseason and win a SB if he has a defense and some weapons. As for the fans, a lot of them are stupid. Every fan base is filled with idiot fans. The Lions go decades without a decent QB and we finally get a goodish one with Stafford and people want him gone. Its insane. But Tannehill is probably the best QB you've had since Marino
My wish list: #1. LG #2. Big, Nasty DT #3. RT #4. Speedy RB #5. Eventual Mathis Replacement CB #6. Eventual Ihedibgo Replacement SS #7. Backup LB #8. Backup QB #9. Third WR
we are the jolliest bunch of assholes this side of the loony bin!

Don't like him. He's gotten by on excuses thus far, they've rebuilt the line, they've got Knowshon and Lamar's finally being the guy Chad wanted him to be. No more excuses he needs to beat the Pats and win a playoff game in 2015 or they'll be looking at Hackenberg and Jones.

Tannehill was still the most hit/rushed QB in the league this season. The line isn't rebuilt especially if they continue to play Pouncey at guard where he is shitty, It should be better next season when Albert comes back, and if Philbin is smart enough to move Pouncey back to center, and to replace Colledge. Miller was under used and Moreno played one game then got injured. We have one solid receiver and he happens to be a rookie, while Hartline and Gibson have a case of the drops and played like shit this year, and Wallace who will likely be gone (good riddance) because he picks and chooses when he wants to play, so we only get minimal effort and production from. These are excuses but please explain their lack of validity? I am not saying some of this isn't on Tannehill, but there is a problem when you force a young QB to throw 40 times a game while abandoning your running game for no reason, with an offensive line that can't block, and receivers that can't catch. Tannehill isn't a great QB who can carry a team by himself, I believe that is pretty obvious. He is however a Alex Smith, or Joe Flacco, level of QB, I believe he can win with the right team around him. I know I asked for opinions but I have been holding that in the whole second half of the season, from reading the phins forum

They are both top 16 (or close), he's around 25.

I would put Smith and Flacco way ahead of Tannehill. They are both top 16 (or close), he's around 25. lol which 24 QBs are better than him. Rodgers Brady Manning Brees Rothilisberger Romo Luck Rivers Wilson Stafford Ryan Those 11 are definitely better than Tannehill.. From there it gets dicey. Palmer Flacco Smith These three are better but only by a very small margin. Foles Maybe better. Who is better then? As this is exactly where Tannehill would lay on my QB rankings. Newton? Kaep? They most definitely aren't better as far as I am concerned.. Bradford? Dalton? Fitzpatrick? Orton? Eli? Hoyer? Locker? Definitely not any of the rookies? The way I see it is Tannehill is right smack dab in the middle of the pack, putting him at 25 is very laughable to me. Especially with the fact that he has improved each year he has played. Where as most of those others have either decline or not been healthy enough to play.
