Even if there is not enough evidence to persecute them, I feel like the NFL will still come down on the Patriots. Or at least they should if they want to not be looked at as a complete joke of an organization. Now, let me point this out for you all. This isn't me thinking that the Patriots should be punished or shouldn't. This isn't about my personal opinion on whether or not that should happen. If the NFL follows their modus operandi, then they will punish the Patriots. The NFL never does anything about something unless that something severely damages their image. That is the one thing they care about more than anything else. The Shield. They didn't do anything about concussions until there was a high profile lawsuit against them.
They didn't crack down on domestic violence (even if it was already a problem) until the Ray Rice video came out. They fined Ray Lewis $250,000 (the largest single fine for an NFL player in history) for his involvement in the infamous murder case, even though he plead guilty to an obstruction of justice charge. They sanctioned the New England Patriots a 1st Round Draft pick and fined Bill Belichick $500,000 for filming another team's signals. They suspended Ben Roethlisberger initially 6 games because he was accused of sexually assaulting two different women, though never found guilty of anything. They suspended 4 Saints players, Defensive Coordinator Greg Williams, and Head Coach Sean Payton for their involvement in the "Bountygate" incident. All of these instances have one thing in common: They damage the image of the Shield. Which brings me up to my original point.
Based on all of these precedents set by the NFL, I feel that the Patriots will ultimately be punished in some way, shape, or form by the NFL. Bill Belichick and Tom Brady have both made their cases for plausible deniability, which causes this matter to fall squarely on the NFL itself. That reason, and that reason alone leads me to believe that the NFL will ultimately feel like it has to punish both Bill Belichick and Tom Brady in some way in order to save face and keep what they feel is their "integrity" intact. Based on the level of attention this has gotten, I personally feel like Belichick and Brady will get anywhere between a $50K-$100K fine each, with the Patriots likely losing a 2nd Round Draft pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

man... I HATE plausible deniability. It's a little kid attitude. Modify the issue to make it seem like maybe it wasn't your fault. It's a classic dodge of responsibility. I had a great teacher in elementary school who always spoke on integrity and the importance of being honest even when no one could prove you were responsible. Tom and BB should go back to the 3rd grade and learn something. I realize that has nothing to do with punishment or crime, but it just makes me not respect Brady or BB. Personally, I didn't really respect Brady before this, I think he's a terrible leader and a poor role model, but I always respected Belichick and that has certainly been tarnished.

Pats wont lose a draft pick. If your coach can get away with tripping a player in play on video without losing a pick, then no way we lose a pick for something that doesnt have any evidence other than media created rumors.

Forgot to mention that the Patriots also have a history of cheating (and more importantly getting caught cheating), which hurts their chances as well. Not to mention that this story (evidence or not), has dominated the headlines during the weeks heading up to the Super Bowl and still will. This "Deflategate" or whatever you want to call it damages the league far more than what Tomlin did or didn't do in that game. They have enough evidence to do something, IMO and feel justified. The evidence is the 11 of 12 primary footballs that were altered. If you remember correctly, there was indeed serious talk of the Steelers losing a Draft pick for that anyway. Tomlin was eventually fined $100,000 in his first offense. This is Belichick's 2nd Offense and they have already been docked a Draft pick before. I would be VERY surprised if the Patriots weren't docked at least a 2nd Round Pick. At least if the NFL shows its characteristic lack of moral fairness and only cares about saving face.

Pats are not considered repeat offenders according to NFL rules. Its far over 30 games since the prior alleged incident. What evidence do you think they have? All we know is that 11 footballs were lower than the legal limit, doesnt mean the team altered them.

All we know is that 11 footballs were lower than the legal limit, doesnt mean the team altered them. That isn't what I am saying. If the NFL follows their own MO, they will punish the Patriots, Bill Belichick, and/or Tom Brady. Regardless of evidence. That is just simply how the NFL works and if you think otherwise, you are being naive. The NFL will protect their own brand at any cost. Now that Brady and Belichick have made their cases for plausible deniability, the NFL can hardly come out and say "Sorry, folks! It is our fault! We were the ones responsible for this whole mess!" No. They will pass the buck back down to the Patriots whether it is warranted or not. My point in this whole discussion is that the NFL will make itself look worse by their own standards if they do not come down on the Patriots. Either way they are going to look bad, but I'll be darned if they are the only ones that don't come out of this unscathed. That is simply the reality of how businesses work and how the NFL works. It is unfair, but there is nothing you can do when the ones who make the rules are above reproach.
