Nothing stupid about Ross wanting Harbaugh at his alma mater. Besides, firing Philbin could severely hurt Tannehill's development, who has showed a lot of growth under Philbin. I don't see Philbin as a bad HC. I think Miami could very well be a wild card team next year. Seriously nothing stupid about Ross wanting Harbaugh there over the team he owns? He would rather a coach who took SF to 3 straight NFC conference championships not be on the head coach of the team he makes cash flow off of, go to a place that he is only tied to because he went there.. He would rather see a coach who is great with developing QBs not come to his team a team that has been shitty for the past decade and a half, who has a young QB in dire need of developing go to a place that he only essentially cheers for.. If thats not stupid I don't know what is. Miami will continue to be mediocre under Philbin IMO because he has no command over his team. He allowed bullygate to go on under his nose and in the middle of the season he almost decided to stop going with Tannehill when it wasn't Tannehills fault and casted doubt upon his entire team by not actually deciding who was going to be his starting QB that weak forcing Tannhill himself to step up and say "Yea I am the starter this weak." Even though he still was contemplating starting Moore, for no good reason. Yea we may make the wildcard because Hickey has been doing a good job putting players in the right place, but we won't be a contender under Philbin. Away from the Miami talk though lol. Good for Michigan for getting Harbaugh, they will start contending with him as the HC IMO. They already have a great recruiting pipeline and his ability to put out a winning team is well documented. You should also start getting the most out of your QBs.

Good for Michigan for getting Harbaugh, they will start contending with him as the HC IMO. They already have a great recruiting pipeline and his ability to put out a winning team is well documented. You should also start getting the most out of your QBs. Stephen Ross has donated over 300 million dollars to the University of Michigan. His love for the college goes wayyyy beyond just attending there. So I'd say it's not that stupid, Ross has major allegiances to both sides. He would have looked stupid to most Michigan fans and the people within the Michigan program if he didn't want Harbaugh at Michigan. Kind of a lose/lose situation for Ross there. Besides, we don't know if he would "rather" have Philbin over Harbaugh. Even if Miami fires Philbin, Harbaugh likely still goes to Michigan anyways. So maybe Ross decided to keep Philbin because he knew where Harbaugh was headed? That's just speculation on my part, but maybe. Didn't Philbin placing doubt on who would be the starter that week make Tannehill play a lot better though? Maybe it was just a method by Philbin to try and get Tannehill to step up his play? (Which worked, I might add) Bullygate is inexcusable though, you can't really defend that. Yes I'm really excited. And it's fortunate that QBs are Harbaugh's specialty, because that's the biggest problem with Michigan right now. Devin Gardner's stats, who was Michigan QB last year: 174/283, 61.5 comp %, 1896 yards, 10 TDs, 15 INTs Terrible numbers to say the least. But Gardner is gone now because he graduated. But even though Gardner is gone, it really says something that the previous coaching staff felt Gardner was the QB that gave us the best chance to win.. The QBs Michigan will have on the roster next year have never started a game and are totally unproven, so it will be interesting to see who wins the job and how much QB whispering Jim Harbaugh can do. I feel like we can have a pretty good season and surprise people "if" we get good QB play. Michigan returns nearly everyone from a stout top 15 defense, we will FINALLY have an offensive line that has cohesiveness and familiarity with each other, and we also have two 5 star RBs on the roster in Derrick Green and Ty Isaac. Michigan has a more talented roster than a lot of people think IMO, we should be able to compete immediately for the Big Ten championship. But it will take us I'd say 3 years before we start competing for national championships. Michigan is pretty similar to the Bills and the Chiefs. Talent at every position on the field except for QB. But quarterback is where Harbaugh comes in.
