Eddie if your motivations are towards helping the other guy, then I would still take the 50-50. Because then if you win and he loses 200 you'll feel bad about winning, which is the worst. Honestly, I wasn't motivated on helping him so much as I was scared of the matchup. Of course I would have liked the 50/50 split more than anything else, but he wasn't going for that, and believe me I tried.

He already made the deal. Did you check out his link to the matchup? Look at my last post. It is NOT 50/50, or even close IMO. I would put 4-1 (80/20) of my own money on his opponent, so the offer he accepted was very good. Eddie would have to be delusional to think he had a shot as it stands right now. IMO, his opponent is conceding 15% for the sure deal cuz he's strapped for cash. Then Eddie instilled some goodwill and maybe professional perks, he made out like a bandit IMHO. Exactly. The odds appeared in his favor. If I was an outsider looking in, and was forced to bet on the winner, I'd be hard pressed not to choose his team.

@eddiej2010 He's a car salesman, one of the Top salesman. This tells me all I need to know, hope you had your notebook and wrote this down you had your first lesson. When he gave you that first offer he was feeling you out and without asking you directly he found the price you would settle for when you said "I may consider $500 cash" at that point you lost all chances for a 50/50 split. He may or may not be hurting for money,he already had you on the hook all he had to do was reel ya in an his little story worked like a charm. It looked like a close match-up and if given time you could poke holes in both line-ups. In the end you made the right choice and accepted the $515 cash offer, not bad for your $100 investment. You paid the admission price and your lessons have begun, if by some chance you win, in the long run you will gain more by what he can teach you about your job. You make good points, Steeler. I knew he was originally running "game" on me with his initial offer, and there was no way I was going for that. He came at me hard with that first offer of $350, like take it or leave it...or else it's gonna be a 80%/20% split with no further offers. I wasn't falling for that shit. Not sure who the hell he thinks he was talking to with that garbage, lol. I actually said to him, slow your role bro....stop trying to be a salesman to me...I ain't buying. Like you said though, he was feeling me out. Fact is though, I wasn't feeling very confident in my lineup, wanted/needed the cash NOW(x-mas), and wanted to do my best to get closest I could to a 40% split. I pretty much accomplished what I was out to get. I wasn't neccesarily buying his sob story either, but was more focused on getting what I wanted from the deal. You are correct though, by putting out that $500 number, I did concede my only shot to scare him into the 50/50 split. Fact is though, I actually ran some "game" on him to get that $515, IMHO. Everyone else in the league was pumping him up to go for it all(80%/20%). Part of him DID feel that $350 was a generous offer, compared to the $283 I would have got if I lost in the 80/20 split, compared to the $350 he was originally offering. I do KNOW that he was SERIOUSLY considering to just go for the 80/20 split without a deal at all. I probably would have went for the 80/20 split if I was him too, and offered a slightly better "buy-out" number like he did to me originally("just in case"). If you read my text messages to him, you would see how I actually worked him over with my own minipulative skills, lol. Too much to re-type though. Fact is, if I hadn't been out of work for a few months before this job, and wasn't still behind from catching up on bills with x-mas involved...I would have just let it play out if he wasn't willing to agree to the 50/50 split.

Thx for everyone who answered. I didn't respond to everyone because I had already answered in my responses to others that said the same things. Thx again everyone. If I lose, I'm pretty smart and made the right call. If I win, I still won a nice chunk of change anyway, and got it in time to get the rest of the gifts on time for x-mas. Not to mention, part of our deal is that he doesn't tell anyone I conceded, and that we went for the 60/40 split, and I will still be regarded as the champ if I win

Well at least you made it to the final game. I'm still pissed at Jimmy Graham for dropping that last td in my money league. Cost me a chance at one thousand dollars. I can still win one hundred if I win this week and take third. I'm not to upset though because the peeps are tired of me winning. Time someone else won. The guy I play this week for the one hundred has won twice also and he works for me. haha. We will not split anything.

Still can't believe you called that. We thought you were trying to be a d-bag, kidding around of course. His team had some bad luck, the other guy, none. It's like you had no more than a crystal ball.

Yes, you were correct my friend. I knew I had a decent shot at winning, but did think he had the slight edge. I should have settled for nothing less than a 50/50 or 60/40 split. Fact is though, I was in a desperate situation for instant cash because of the holidays. I just started the new job, had been out of work for a few months previously, hadn't bought a single gift yet and was really behind on all of my bills. The deal gave me $515 in my pocket before the game was even played. Lesson learned for next season. I kicked ass this year in FF. Played in 4 leagues total, and won 3 of them... Flying High

It's like you had no more than a crystal ball. Haha, yeah I just had a strange suspicion that Eddie had the advantage in this one. I looked at it and these were my thoughts before the game:
1. I liked Brady's matchup more than Peyton's and figured that Brady's score would equal Peyton's or be higher. I was wrong on this one.
2. I figured Eddie's RB's would outscore the other guy's pretty easy. I have Jamaal Charles in all my leagues and for some reason I just expected him to have a bad game. And me being a STL fan, I knew Andre Williams wasn't going to put up jack. But the big thing here was Jeremy Hill. Ever since he took over for Bernard he had been tearing things up. Guy was very hot coming into the game. Didn't expect him to have that BIG of one though.
3. And the last reason I picked Eddie's team was cause of Jason Witten vs IND and Lions D. I figured both of them would outscore Donnell and Pats D.
I was thinking he would win at QB, RB, TE, and D, which would be enough to win.

Yeah man but who cares? You still made more money than everybody else in your league. I don't blame you. You did really good.
