This is some weird shit:
I'm in only two fantasy leagues this year. I've never been in fewer than three for as long as I can remember. With college and a part time job taking up a lot on my plate, I didn't want to commit TOO much this year. But it just so happens, I have been ludicrously successful, something I've rarely enjoyed outside of one championship last year.
First off, my teams are finishing off the year with nearly identical records. My Pocket Aces team is 10-3, while my Jancey League team is 11-2. In both leagues, I was locked in to the my playoff spot coming into week 13, and I lost in both cases, so the one game difference is totally meaningless. The records were virtually identical.
In both leagues, I am the second seed, and Jancey is the first seed entering the playoffs. While both Jancey and I are in both playoffs with bye weeks, the 8 wild card weekend participants do not share a single common identity, despite the fact that nearly half the owners (morkim, Cbagin, 101mitch, myself, Jancey) are in both leagues.
Jancey is first in both leagues in scoring, and I'm second in both leagues. In PA, Jancey leads me by 287. On NFL.com, he leads me by an INSANELY similar 292. Over an entire 13 game season, the differences between the two leagues is just FIVE POINTS. 50 yards rushing. A passing TD and an extra point. Two fifteen yard receptions.
Jancey beat me in head to head games, once, in both leagues.
Despite shattering the PA scoring record, and leading both leagues in scoring, Jancey had the least points scored against him in both leagues, and I'm just barely behind him in both, this time our differential is 36 points, certainly more than FIVE, but still eerily close.
In both leagues, I start Peyton Manning and a Broncos WR (Dthomas OR Emmanuel Sanders). This is especially weird since I acquired Peyton via trade and drafted Sanders when he still played for Pittsburgh, so it's not like I drafted all Broncos. Both of Jancey's teams start Andrew Luck at QB (Peyton's successor) and Antonio Brown at WR (Sanders old teammate).
All four teams are built exactly the same way, elite QBs and tons of great WRs with little talent or depth at RB.
This whole thing is giving me ridiculous deja vu. These two leagues are practically identical. It seems that whatever happens to me in one league, happens to me in the other, and the same goes for Jancey. I'm almost dead certain that the end result, whatever it is, will be the same in both leagues. If I win one championship over Jancey, I'll win both. If I lose one, I'll lose both. If Jancey goes one and done in one, he'll go one and done in both, and the same goes for me.
