ESPN's Adam Schefter has reported that DeCastro did not tear his ACL. However he DID tear his MCL and also dislocated his knee cap and suffered damage to his patella tendon. It seems like surgery is not needed based on the report.

nfl.com just reported that david decastro is out for the season now it says it in the breaking news thing NFL.com is wrong. I trust ESPN A LOT more than NFL.com in their reporting accurate news. ESPN never reports anything unless it is as close to %100 certain as it can get.

Only ESPN and CBS wrote that he didn't hurt his ACL, the others sites wrote that he did hurt it

He COULD be back by mid/late season, but it is smarter to keep him out and make sure he is 100%.

I never said he would. Just saying he COULD, but that it is smarter to keep him out and make sure he is %100 next season. That is what the Steelers will probably do.
