Some atheists are just melancholy about their beliefs. They don't believe in a higher power and just leave it at that. Then they're lazy atheists. A belief in no god(s) still begs the question of the structure and makeup of the universe, the afterlife, etc. It also says nothing about the investigation of ethics. Funny, considering that all three of those concepts go back to pagan beliefs/rituals from well before Christianity ever existed. Aside from the fact that Christmas is now more of a capitalist holiday than anything else, it hails from a whole series of sun festivals on or about the winter solstice, from the ancient Greeks and Babylonians to the Celts, which were then co-opted by the Catholic Church. "God bless you" hails to the pagan belief that a small piece of the soul was lost every time one sneezed. As for the god(s) damning a sinner, I refer you to the Prometheus myth among others. Not an original Christian thought among them. So I guess it's inherently hypocritical for Christians to use those terms...

See? Ever had a shot of that crap in your home? I'll bet not. So, yard sale or [egads] submarine? The latter is costlier - guess it depends on what kinda insurance ya got. haha Kudos to you and yours for you using the word egad. You're the first person I've ever heard say egad. Ever. The only other time I see the word egad is in crossword puzzles. You officially win a one million dollar I.O.U. coupon from nateball89. Not sure how I'd even pronounce that. I can assure you 'egads' has never cross my lips. You might imagine that if so, I'd get the crap kicked outta me many times in the Bronx. Not a crossword geek. Where does that word even come from do you suppose? Why would I use it now? Oh shut up. EDIT: So which team are you closer to? Guessing Cinci? Do you care here? Not your div, but bet you wish.

Remind me never to get drunk and argue religion, politics, or philosophy with you...on the other hand...might actually be fun.

I've recently started to try to stop say this word (not due to this thread) but it is damn difficult.
