Jim McMahon was a wild guy. He played for my Chargers for a bit. I remember quite a few guys on your list. The 63 Chargers wanted to play them but they refused. Bears won the NFL that year and Chargers won the AFL. I think we would have beat them. Great history on the Bears.

The '63 Chargers were quite a team though. Let me see John Hadl, Paul Lowe, Lance Alworth, Keith Lincoln, Dave Kocourek, Earl Faison, Chuck Allen, Ernie Ladd, Paul Maquire. Put those players in their prime on a team today and I'll take my chances.

Hey welcome to the forum! Nice list, but why is Sayers the RB #4?

Hey welcome to the forum! Nice list, but why is Sayers the RB #4? Thanks for the welcome! Only because of injuries and his career was basically over at age 26. Based purely on talent he'd be 2nd to only sweetness

I was the little boy who ran out and picked up the kicking tee at Balboa Stadium. Alworth is still my friend to this day. Hang around Bears75. You might like it here. Bye the way do you play fantasy football? I think I'm benching Bennett this week. He's slipping.

Turned 100 years old this year and it's still in use. Although be it by a soccer team. I like Bennett a lot! He's dealing with a hamstring injury and missed some practice this week. Keep an eye on the situation. Playing the Pats this week and with our pass defense it may get ugly early. If Bennett is healthy and starts he may get some targets. On the other hand we might try to run the ball more to keep it away from Brady. If we do that he may get fewer chances. I prefer the latter myself but Tressman likes to throw the ball so....?

The Chargers on the other hand averaged 28 ppg while allowing 18 ppg. The classic offense vs defense matchup. As the saying goes defense wins championships, Bears win this game 21-17.

Haha we will never know because the Bears refused to play. The AFL was not relevant they said. Well we proved that wrong. I wish it would have happened. But like I said "we will never know" We beat the Patriots 52-10 if I remember right in the championship game. and I think your stats are off, but not going to look it up.

My mistake the Chargers were 11-3. If I'm not mistaken didn't they allowed 50 points in a loss to the 2-11-1 Broncos that year? Maybe the Bears would have scored more than 21 against them.
