IMO Barnes flopped on that play.. the O-lineman gave Barnes a little shove after he full out shove Brady to the ground well after the ball was gone, and Barnes fell to the ground under when IMO he could have easily stayed up..

That wasn't a flop by Barnes. However, he should have been flagged for unnecessary roughness but wasn't. VERY surprised Brady didn't get that call. That was an unnecessary throw down when the play was clearly over on that part of the field.

Should have been a late hit in the first place, completely unnecessary play.

The guy got lightly pushed by a lineman, watch how little of a shove he takes and then he takes a couple of steps and falls over. Either he flopped or he tripped, cause in no way was he pushed anywhere near hard enough to make a 250lb linebacker fall over. Didn't actually see the supposed flop by Brady later, but it wouldn't surprise me if he did.

There was also this: sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/did-referee-help-new-england-patriots-avoid-penalty-on-blocked-field-goal-135517403.html. A ref appeared to move Dont'a Hightower from his original spot because it would have been a penalty because he was lined up over the long snapper. I know that the rule is in there technically for health reasons, but I don't think a ref should interfere with a potentially game-changing play. The penalty would have moved it from a 58 yard FG to a 53 Yard FG, which would have been easier to make. You don't see the refs rerouting Wide Receivers even though they know they are being put in a position to get hurt (a la Wes Welker). That is another thing. If Welker keeps getting hurt, I betcha anything that the NFL is going to ban crossing routes over the middle from slot receivers because it is "too dangerous of a play".

The article also references several other times where officials did the same thing.

The article also references several other times where officials did the same thing. I am not denying that, which is why I said I know it was technically for health reasons and I get why he did it, but it is just another way how refs have dictated games too much lately.

Welker had 0 concussions in New England, while running very similar routes. NFL should consider penalizing the QB for making those throws...
