Clear case of extortion? They found Winston's DNA, bruises and blood that was all consistent of rape. She deserves a lot more than 7 million IMO.

And what choice did she really have with the way law enforcement handled this case.

I am not saying she doesn't deserve it, but she tried to extort money out of the case (at least the lawyer did) in order to stay silent about the whole thing. When they didn't get the money, they took it to the media. They clearly tried to take advantage of him being a superstar and a likely 1st Round pick for the NFL. If that isn't extortion, I don't know what is. If Winston was a normal person, do you think they would ask for $7 Million? No, because no normal person would be able to pay that. Not that I am saying that the girl isn't the victim here. However, if they really wanted justice, don't you think they would have taken it straight to the civil suit? Money isn't true justice. $7 million does not come close to the value of being violated, not even close. If I were in the girls shoes, I would want his life effectively ruined for what he did. Money is just superficial.

At this rate, this kid isn't going to get drafted. Remember Vontaze Burfict? Top 10 pick went undrafted. Colt Lyerla? Louchiez Purifoy? Max Bullough? Anthony Johnson?
I admit that Winston is ahead of ALL those guys, but it could happen, especially after this awful September in NFL culture, it could happen that every single GM takes this guy off the board entirely. I'm guaranteeing that or even saying it's likely, but it really could happen.

Money is just superficial. Extortion and fair compensation are two completely different things. She had as much reason to want to stay out of the media as he did. This is a classic civil suit. Have you ever heard of a civil suit in which a persons first offer was reasonable? You define compensation for rape as the "value of being violated". There is a lot more too it than that...

Those guys were all top 20 talent, but still teams will always be willing to take a little more risk at the QB position.
