Miss Lacy thinks FF is a science. Some people think its rocket science.
I give her credit though. Shes successful at it. She has her system.
Eddie...you have your system too. We all have our own system.
I have never really had a certain way to draft...most of the time I get best available player. I dont put much emphasis on RB's like most do. If they are there....yes I take them.
But after the big 6...its a crapshoot to me.
QB's....After the big 4...they are basically the same caliber for about 10 picks. Then you see a dropoff.
WR - Megatron...then you got your next big 4 or 5. Then you got the next 10 are basically the same caliber.
TE - Graham and Gronk. Then you got the next 3 or 4 that are basically the same caliber. After that..a big dropoff.
I have always just drafted who I thought would have a great season...no matter what the postion...but at the same time, get the best I can at each postion, and fill my depth efficiently.
In keeper leagues...you very seldom get anyone really good, cuz they are all kept.
Kickers are a dime a dozen..unless your name is Hausditka. And I dont reach even for him.
I have played long time, and have won many championships. But one thing is for certain.....I have never ever been totally satisfied with any team I have ever had. LOL
Its not rocket science for sure. You could have the best in each position and still have to have some luck in FF.

Yeah your right Jeff, plus ya have to guess sometimes what those in front of you & those who pick after will do. Sometimes even though you may have played with a group of people for some time ya almost always get a couple people that make strange picks, which can either help you or hurt you in getting a player you really want..

This is how my 4 team's turned out.... #3. Steeler Jeff's 'NFFL League
10 team PPR. I point per catch. Half a point for rushing attempts. Passing TD's=6pts. 1 point per 15 return yards. I drafted from the 6th spot. QB- Rivers RB- Lynch RB- Murray WR- Antonio Brown WR- Cordarrelle Patterson WR- Emmanuel Sanders TE- Zach Ertz R/W/T- Joique Bell K-Vinatieri DEF- CIN Bench QB- Cutler RB- Jonathan Stewart RB- Jeremy Hill WR- Amendola WR- Cooks DEF- San Fran Hoping for upside on your WR3 and WR bench--otherwise you're screwed in this PPR league. Well, Sanders is my #3WR, and Cooks#4. Honestly, you'd be hard pressed to to find better 3rd & 4th Wr's than that. I'm hearing now that DEN may use Sanders as the #2, which means he'd be on the field every play. Don't know if that's true or not. Also now, with Welker's suspension...I'm loving Sanders as my #3.

There is the intangible I talked about. WHO the hell would have known Welker was getting suspended? My opponent in my money league has him. I hope he realizes it before the game. But I sure ain't going to call him. haha.

But I sure ain't going to call him. haha. Nobody knew that. However, we all knew about the 3 concussions in a year's time-frame. It seems obvious that if get's another one, his career would/should most likely be done. That's why I never even considered drafting him in any of my leagues.

I took Cutler 6th rd (64) and Kaep 7th (81). Lucky I didn't wait any longer. After going RB-RB-TE, you didn't need Jennings (45) Divebitch. You probably should have went WR-WR (or WR-QB). V Jax (46) and Dre Johnson (48) went right after you. (So did Wilson-47 and Luck-51). You may struggle to get consistency from Tate and Hilton, and could end up having to play WR roulette. BTW, Carson Palmer (101) went right after your Flacco pick. With a run game and 2 young WRs, I think Palmer will do better this year. I'm mad you stole Bennett. Wanna trade? Eh, IDK on Jennings at 4.9. You're probably right. Turns out, could've gotten Tate, Sankey, Rice, Gore (no thanks) and Chris Johnson, all who went in the 5th and 6th. S-Jax in 7th (meh), Moreno in 8th (I'm thinking that's a steal now). But with 2 RBs and 2 flexes, I got my 3 feature RBs covered. DMC (14th) for byes only in an injury pinch - no bye conflicts. All catch (PPR), and all in good situations with the departure of other RBs or what have you. WRs run very deep. Was able to get D-Jax, Tate & Hilton 5 - 7, and Cooper (10), who I believe won't do much worse than my 1st 3. Got Marvin Jones in the last (20th). Apparently I was the last to know he wouldn't play til week 5. Wouldn't need him til week 10 anyway, if that, so it's all good. IMO my biggest mistake was not getting a QB in the 6th instead of waiting til the 8th. You really want Bennett? I could part with him after week 4 (Julius's bye). hehe Hey, you got Greg Olsen. With a week 12 bye and Cam's only reliable target, he should be a top 6. HA, that's just where Yahoo put him. EDIT: Andre scored only 4 pts better than D-Jax last year, and TY only came on strong after Wayne went down. Tate, I like where he is better now w/the Lions. Cooper came on late strong too. He was only targeted 83 times (8 TDs) vs. Andre's 181 (5 TDs). Then ya look at their QBs and RB weapons. Probably should've taken V-Jax with Martin back, despite the QB uncertainty. But it's all about the situation.

Jennings has the most potential of all players you just listed who went later^. I think Jennings was a nice pick in that spot. I was gonna take him if you didn't. There were still a handful of nice Wr's still available in the next few rounds. Problem is, IMO, you didn't get the best ones still available. They are "decent" WR's, but maybe not so much in a PPR with their current situations. D-Jax isn't a high volume reception type WR, and Tate has Megatron to deal with. Not to mention Bush & Bell could BOTH catch 50+passes out of the backfield AGAIN in DET this season. This is a position you will be at a disadvantage compared quite a few other teams.IMO my biggest mistake was not getting a QB in the 6th instead of waiting til the 8th. Yeah, considering we're able to start 2 Qb's every week, you could be at a major disadvantage on a weekly basis compared to some other teams...Take my two Qb's compared to yours, for instance. In your league last season. Stafford & Dalton were ranked as the 4th&5th best Qb's, both of them scored about 355 points. That's about 100 more points more than Tannehill scored last season in this league, and 130 more points than Flacco scored here last season. I sorta made the mistake of waiting too long for Qb's in your league last season. Made sure not to do it again.

Glad to hear you think Jennings was good. I know I didn't reach for him at all at 4.9 (45), but I did already have 2 good RBs. D-Jax wasn't a high volume receiver until last year, and he was - 82 catches on 126 targets is high volume. Almost slot numbers, except he was getting like 18 yds a catch. A banner year, he likely won't see that again with RG3. If anyone thought that, he's a 2nd or 3rd round pick, yes? lol
Disagree on Tate having Megatron to deal with. It makes them BOTH more attractive (if indeed Tate is their #2) unless the backfield is very crowded, and it's not here. I like Stafford better than Wilson as far as a passing game is concerned. Please don't mention Harvin again, he'll make anyone look good. lol
TBH, I was asleep at the wheel on QB, slipped my mind the QWRT, my focus was on everything else. Flipped out when I saw what was left, like 'DUH'. hahaha PPR but also 6 pt pass TDs, felt instantly my chances at even a playoff spot was iffy. Also TBH, this was my 3rd draft back to back, and had been tossed out of each one, seemingly every round or 2. Apparently 'put the router on the windowsill', discovered after all my drafts were done, answered a lot of my connection problems. It's really sad to have every draft compromised by that. In Neil's my last draft Sun, the client opened, then threw me out for 4 rounds.

You could have the best in each position and still have to have some luck in FF. I hear ya. I go a little overboard analyzing chit sometimes. However, the good thing is...once I analyze for one league of similar settings, I don't have to look at much for the rest. It will be very interesting to see how things work out, according to the choices I've made for each league. This is my 4th year playing FF, and every season I learn a little bit more. One of my biggest mistakes in the first few seasons, was not properly analyzing the impact of specific league settings. There were quite a few players I'd never consider drafting in standard scoring leagues, and failed to realize how much settings would impact a player's value when you add in factors such as PPR & Kick return yards. I did a MUCH better job this season, of understanding the value of players, according to the settings of the league. Hopefully it will reflect in the standings. I DID split 1st place prize in my only $$$ league last season. This year I'm hoping to win at least 2 of 4. You all better hope and pray I don't win them all... You'll never hear the end of it
