Whoo! College basketball is just around the corner! I'm starting this thread, because it looks like Kentucky is playing in a scrimmage against some team I can't pronounce their name. But I'm watching USA vs Philippines high school basketball. And frankly I'm embarrassed for the the USA. They look like bullies Like, these Philippines kids are like 5'9 tops, and we've got 6'9 and 6'5 kids on the floor. I didn't look up the actual number, but we are embarrassingly taller. And winning by 40. Edit: won by 60. Bunch a bullies.

Michigan's a basketball school now. Is it November yet? Haven't had time to look yet...what's our team look like this year? sent from my pigeon carrier Definitely good. We won't have another bad season as long as John Beilein is here. He's one HC we can count on. ===== Caris Levert is the best player on the team. He's likely an All-American, and NBA draft boards have him in the top 10. Our PGs under Beilein have a history of getting a LOT better from their freshman to their sophomore years (Darrius Morris and Trey Burke are prime examples), so look for that to continue with Derrick Walton Jr. We pretty much ran the offense through Stauskas last year, so now that he's gone, look for Walton to take more command of the offense. Zak Irvin is our starting shooting guard this year, replacing Stauskas. I'm personally really excited about him, he's arguably just as good of a shooter as Stauskas is, and he's more athletic. He wasn't really asked to do anything except shoot threes last year (that's all we needed him to do), so I'm looking forward to watching Irvin and seeing what else he has in his arsenal. Kameron Chatman (freshman, top 50 recruit nationally) is likely our starting PF, replacing GR3. He's not the stellar athlete GR3 is, but Chatman is supposedly a better rebounder, which is good for us considering rebounding has been one of our weaknesses the past couple years. The center position is our biggest question mark, they're young and inexperienced (but really talented, at least) Mark Donnal is actually a stretch 4, but due to the NCAA pretty much stealing Mitch Mcgary from us, we're forced to move Donnal to center for this season because of depth reasons.. The other center we have is Ricky Doyle. 6'11 240, and they say he's ambidextrous and can hit shots with both hands. I wouldn't be surprised if Doyle becomes our starting center sometime this year since he's better fit for the position. I'm not sure if you heard, but Jon Horford transferred to Florida, so we don't have him anymore. ===== TL;DR - Levert's a beast, Walton and Irvin will be better, front court is talented but inexperienced and therefore a bit of a question mark.
