i dont give a shit about cycling but this is pretty big news that i heard today. he lost 7 titles too and being banned for life from the sport is one of the biggest punishments ive seen in all of sports. that might be worse than the whole penn state think IDK.
anybody else heard about this today?

He had been fighting this for a long time and earlier this week gave up and said he wasnt going to fight it anymore. Its a shame.

Its because he only has one testicle which means less wind resistance there for giving him an un-fair advantage isn't it?

I've followed cycling and particularly the Tour de France since the early '80s in the days of Bernard Hinault and Greg LeMond. This judgement has been coming for years and doesn't come as any surprise to anyone who has followed the sport. The have been unsubstantiated rumours since he returned to the sport after his cancer treatment. He has passed every test he has ever taken and as far as I know his old samples have been retested and he still passes. However, there are a lot of high-profile former teammates and rivals lining up to testify against him. When an organisation with huge financial resources is determined to see someone banned and their accomplishments deleted it comes down to whether you are prepared to spend every cent you have in a never-ending legal battle to delay the inevitable defeat or move on with your life. I don't know the truth. I don't think anyone really does. I know that this result doesn't help Armstrong, his legacy, his charities, or even those cyclists who now appear as champions in the record books. It's a sad day when nobody wins and everybody loses.

@kccrowe23, he has never tested positive in any test for any illegal substance. His test samples going back to the late '90s have been retested and show nothing. It's a bit sad when people here want to make fun of him. It's like making out of Muhammad Ali or Junior Seau. This is a man who had an aggressive cancer and was given months to live. After extended chemotherapy and rehab he came back to the sport 20 pounds lighter in a sport where weight is critical. I don't say he was innocent or guilty, but I don't care for witch hunts.
