As many know, there was talk about a Kevin Love deal going on before the NBA Draft yet that never happened. However, according to Hoopshype.com, there is reportedly a trade in place to send Kevin Love to the Cleveland Cavaliers that should happen at the end of the month of August. This makes it look as if Andrew Wiggins is going to be part of the trade since he signed his rookie deal last month and there is a 30-day limit before he can be traded. The Philadelphia 76ers are also supposed to be part of that trade.
Here is how I think the trade will work out.
Cleveland Cavaliers get: PF Kevin Love (from Minnesota Timberwolves)
Minnesota Timberwolves get: SG Andrew Wiggins (from Cleveland Cavaliers) PF Anthony Bennett (from Cleveland Cavaliers) Miami's 2015 1st Round Pick (from Cleveland Cavaliers) PF/SF Thaddeus Young (from Philadelphia 76ers)
Philadelphia 76ers get: SG Dion Waiters (from Cleveland Cavaliers) SG Kevin Martin (from Minnesota Timberwolves) PG J.J. Barea (from Minnesota Timberwolves) SF Luc Mbah A Moute (from Minnesota Timberwolves)

76ers get off like bandits.. Not really. Martin, Mbah a Moute, and Barea are bad contracts the Timberwolves need to get rid of in order to get to the Salary Cap, with Mbah a Moute and Barea being expiring contracts. If they get Young (which they have said they want) to replace Kevin Love, they will have to get rid of Martin's $7 Million+ contract along with the $4 million deals of Mbah a Moute and Barea to get under the salary cap of $63 Million. The 76ers also have to get to the minimum of $56 Million (they are at around $30 Million right now) Minnesota Payroll = $69.4 Million - Kevin Love - $15.7 Million - Kevin Martin - $6.7 Million - J.J. Barea - $4.5 Million - Luc Mbah a Moute - $4.5 Million + Anthony Bennett - $5.5 Million + Andrew Wiggins - $5.5 Million + Thaddeus Young - $9.1 Million = Total of $11.8 Salary Cap Room added which puts them at $53.1 total payroll Philadelphia 76ers Payroll - $25.8 Million -Thaddeus Young - $9.1 Million + Kevin Martin - $6.7 Million + J.J. Barea - $4.5 Million + Dion Waiters - $4 Million (offsets the Thaddeus Young deal) + Luc Mbah a Moute - $4.5 Million + Brendan Heywood - $2 Million Total Payroll = $38.4 million (not including rookie signings and other Free Agents) Cleveland Cavaliers Payroll - $62.9 Million - Dion Waiters - $4 Million - Anthony Bennett - $5.5 Million - Andrew Wiggins - $5.5 Million - Brendan Heywood - $2 Million + Kevin Love - $15.7 Million Total Payroll = $61.6 Million Its all about the salary cap. The 76ers take on the expiring contracts of Barea, Heywood and Mbah a Moute and send their best player to Minnesota to help facilitate the money and get Dion Waiters and an aging Kevin Martin to offset the talent and youth of Young.

(I added Brendan Heywood to make the trade financially viable)

Okay, maybe take Martin out of there since he isn't needed to keep the integrity of the trade. That would make it fairer. I just put him in there since I had heard he was going to be part of the deal. This is all just speculation of course.

[1] Cavaliers are not trading Wiggins and Dion; only one of them will go unless the Cavs get another quality player back (in addition to Love, obviously). [2] Brendon Haywood's contract is one of the most unique in the league for the Cavs, as he has a $10 million team option next year, that can be used to help bring in more good players via trade. [3] All indications are that PHI does not really even want Thad Young, so if they can get some expirings and a 1st round pick, that would easily do it for them.
This has been "my" trade: CLE gets: Kevin Love MIN gets: Andrew Wiggins, Thad Young, Anthony Bennett PHI gets: Kevin Martin, MIA 2015 1st

Philadelphia is also not going to trade Young for an aging Kevin Martin and a 1st Round Pick that is Top 10 protected through 2016. They want Dion Waiters and that is probably what's going to happen if they trade Young.

They have tried to deal him on several occasions since last year. PHI is in the deal because they have CAP space to take on high salaries and will be rewarded with a pick in all likelihood. And Cleveland will have no problem paying the luxury tax in the future, that is one thing that owner Dan Gilbert is not worrying about. Cleveland (and Lebron) values Dion Waiters a lot, Dion is not being traded unless Cleveland gets a good player back (Noel has come up in circles, apparently).

Not wanting Young and not valuing Young are two different things. The 76ers have tried to trade Young, but they are not going to give him away. They REALLY want Dion Waiters and Young for Waiters is a pretty fair trade IMO. Minnesota doesn't want Martin anymore either, especially if they get Wiggins. I don't know if Philly is going to take on Martin or not, but trading Young for a 31-year old Martin, a handful of expiring contracts and a Top-10 protected 1st Round Pick is not really fair value for Young IMO.
