My way is pretty unique, and I see you someday will see it. I think people like you let the organized religion problems skeew the fact that there is a God. God is between you and him. I chose to love Jesus because he helped me. He makes me feel good, and who doesn't like that? I also believe in reincarnation. I think your soul may come back if you didn't get it right.
My grandson at the age of four claimed his past life he was Chinesse. He knows lots of Chinesse proverbs. Explain that? My PHD daugher, his mother who is a scientist and an atheist was blown away. She doesn't know what to say.

I believe there is certainly something to it.

If you are homophobic you were born homophobic. If you are homosexual you were born homosexual (so they say). So if you are homophobic that is not acceptable right? Where is the tolerance? I agree that the put them on an Island and nuke em is pretty "threatening" And should be dealt with. But he's no different than lots of people. So to take away his pay will just make him shut up. Won't change him. No one's trying to change him. Homophobic is acceptable, or at least we understand it. But he's gotta keep his mouth shut to the media. It was a hateful comment of gross stupidity considering his position. What even provoked him to say that? Like where did it come from? Was unclear from the article. EDIT: Freaky about your grandson. How old is he now, or when he started with the proverbs? It that the one with the devil hat?

There are many things that I can't explain, but I don't just default to an all-powerful god whenever I don't understand something. People do that too often and then it gets in the way of really incredible discoveries. I can't explain your grandson and I won't attempt to. Maybe he really was reincarnated... Maybe someone read him some books... Maybe he has psychic abilities... But I'll tell what isn't causing it; the Christian God or Jesus didn't bless him with the ability to understand Chinese proverbs.

How can you say that as a certainty? For starters, because the Chinese had no idea about the Christian god for thousands of years of their existence, so God clearly didn't care enough about China to reveal himself to them. He was apparently top busy focusing all of his energy on the Jews and the small region around the Middle East. For an omnipotent, omnipresent, all-loving being, he really played favourites and literally ignored other parts of the world for millennia, without even allowing them to receive his book of truths. So given his clear disdain for the Chinese, I don't see any reason for that god to give information about ancient Chinese proverbs to a child. But the real reason for my certainty is the impossibility of the god of the bible, thanks to the multitude of contradictions in the book. His all-lovingness paired with his constant desire to play favorites and commit genocide is a good example of that. Either that god loves everyone but doesn't have enough power to help everyone, or he doesn't love everyone, plays favorites and it perfectly ok with killing countless innocent people on a daily basis. Also, there are so many similarities between that god and all the other gods who are now seen as irrelevant because the things they were brought in to explain have now been better explained by humans who have taken the time to look for a real answer rather than default to "god did it".

True, at 6 kids are like a sponge. But to say at 4 he was Chinese in a past life is kinda remarkable. But you don't know where he could've gotten it from. Have you ever asked his parents? Could've been an off the cuff remark by Dad while wolfing down Chinese food, something that simple, that only the kid would remember (cuz it would be a shock to his (vividly imaginative) mind), and take literally - and then take an interest in all things Chinese. Or something weirder. hehe

He said something like "if you get knocked down seven times, get up eight times" My daughter went and looked it up. She had never heard that before and it is an old Chinese saying. I might not have the words exactly right. Freaked her out.

Ask her husband if he's heard of the saying. Cuz that is so freaky...I don't even get what that proverb could mean. Do you? I don't think it's something a 1st grade teacher would say.
