I guess no one was really impressed to learn that Drew Brees got his pay later last week. It is safe to assume that players who know their value to their respective franchises refused to sign the franchise tender at first hoping that they would get a better long term contract and they eventually get it. To my knowledge Ray Rice, MJD and Matt Forte are still dealing with their respective situations and have until tomorrow to reach an agreement. While trying to find if something happened in the still of the night, I found nothing but an interesting perspective from Bleacher Report that reminds all of us of something: they are all running backs. bleacherreport.com/articles/1222285-maurice-jones-drew-matt-forte-ray-rice-and-the-death-of-the-nfl-running-backThe article is a month old, but it's still fresh given that nothing changed since then. My guess is that they will all find the light at the end of the tunnel, but what do I know? I've heard that Forte and Rice are moving on in their talks, but what about Pocket Hercules? In a "nothing-but-fun" guess game, if you were to choose one player who is not going to get his big check, who that would be?

Matt Forte is the closest to a deal.

Looks like Matt Forte got his deal. It is reportedly a 4-year deal worth $32 Million. There are only about 2 hours to go until the deadline passes for Ray Rice.
