Considering the astronomical statistics that Peyton Manning posted last season, do you think it would be out of the question picking him with the number one overall selection?

Depends on the league settings. If it is QB heavy such as six points for passing TD and bonuses for yards thrown and stuff, its not out of the question. You will get a lot more input here if you list some of the settings. How many leagues are you in? I think you said four money leagues.

There are a whole lot of settings that I'd rather not have to go into. This may help though. Under the current league settings, Peyton was the highest scoring player in the league(duh), outscoring second place Drew Brees by 120 points(wow). In third place was Charles, who Peyton outscored by more than 180 points! Sure, I know that the "consensus" says to always grab the best available RB early in the first round, but those are staggering numbers that Peyton put up, and cannot be ignored.

Yeah but that was last year and Peyton had video game like stats which I don't think he will repeat. Now I could be wrong but we will have to wait and see how this season plays out..

Those statistics will be nearly impossible to duplicate. I don't think there will be a significant drop off though. Last season, having Peyton on your team was like the equivalent to having an extra player in your starting lineup.

My gut tells me Peyton won't come close to those stats. I would take Adrian Peterson STILL TO THIS DAY. If I had the first pick. RB's are losing priority in fantasy, but not yet. AP is going to have a hell of a year. They are going to work on getting him in space. LOOK OUT

Out of the question? No I wouldn't say its out of the question.. However it is far harder to find good quality starting RBs now a days with the running back by comity becoming more and more popular and the true work horse backs starting to dwindle.
You take Manning in the first round and you may end up with guys like Gehart and MJD as your starting RBs.. You miss out on the top point scorers like Charles, Peterson, McCoy and Forte..
I've take QB first overall before and it has backfired.. Meaning that Brady got injured for the year that year.. Then again I did win my league that year without him..

If I had the very first pick in my money league I would not take Manning.

If I had the very first pick in my money league I would not take Manning. You would take Rivers or Keenan Allen ?
